This is my experience with the greedy corporation AT@T and it makes me want to let the world know how horrible my service has been. I had a two year contract with them ,the phone i got was a 3-G networking phone and was told that the tower would be up and running in a couple of months. The company was Cingular and I was happy for the most part.

The phone lasted for about a year and of course to repair or echange for same was not going to happen so I got a new one free still under year warranty. I would call every 3 months to ask what happened to the 3-G they promised that would improve the reception. They could not ever tell me. I was stuck and no way out. I want to go to land line and except for emergencies have a simple planned cell. Well you would think they would let me out since I have 4 months left and the service was terrible and the3-G network may be running by the time my contract is up.. Well they won't let me go without a price of 50 dollars which i will pay -no choice - but I am leaving with a stink.

Cell phones and AT@T service are awful..I think since they fooled me into a service they half a..ed gave it would have been nice to let me go without a cost ..no such deal and of course I used my phone so I must of liked it..

Never will use anything from them again, they show no mercy for their garbage service. GREED in America is an epidemic!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

This really is not AT@T's fault...

You are complaining about AT@T all over the place. I see only one problem that will really help you out in the future. DON'T LISTEN TO SALESMEN. They are going to tell you what you want to hear to make a sale PERIOD. They can speculate and say what the estimates are but unless it is a written contract do not consider it fact. Aside from that something else must have drawn you to AT@T other than 3G if you were willing to go without for a period of time while they worked to get it implemented. I am guessing you did not just drive by an AT@T store and decide to just walk in and get a cell phone. You did some research on the company, listened to friends tell you how good their service was, all I am saying is if you were educated enough to make the decision to sign a contract with them, you must have felt comfortable about the service.

You knew when you signed up for the 2 year contract that they didn't have a tower there. YOU agreed to the contract for 2 years. Be glad they only charge $50 to terminate early rather then $175 like Verizon. You had that phone for a YEAR. You didn't expect it to last forever did you? Most cell phones don't last longer than a year. Take care of your stuff and you wouldn't have to worry about it.

AT@Twhat now? Florida.

After having AT@T for nearly 2 years the G-network finally kicked in after I was told 2 years ago that it would within a month. They decided to finally cut me some slack and gave me 40.00 credit and made my plan til November a 90 minute 20.00 dollar plan since I have a land line with Comcast now. So far I have had one skirmish because now they say it was 50 minutes and so I went over and had to call and once again wrestle with a supervisor but I believe it is safe to say that he credited me for the overage and tried to resell the 39.99 dollar plan because he was worried I would go over. Not as long as they don't change the plan again. 2 more bills at 20.00 each or 30.00 to leave the plan. Lets hope they don't change it on me.
