I would like to file a complaint against AT&T and possibly have leagal action againt them for providing a incompitant service; expensive service, and then charging the customes unnessarry fees on the customer accont just to make money.  A payment late fee, restore of service fee, Internet usage fee, adjustment fee are all other unnessary fees charged to a customer be use an internet.  As a customer it is the customer's account to be used, as a company, the comapany just plugs in a wire to make a profit, if the customer could go and plug his/her own wire then we would do it ourselves and get a free service.  In this case we are not able to but have to pay AT&t addition cost where AT&T is acting like a bank to charge fees to the customers where the customers are paying them in the first place to get a service.

I am not sure why there is a restore fee of $30 per cycle when a person is late 1 DAY.  There is not a discomnnet fee, but there is a late payment fee of $7.00.  In additon, there is the internet usage fee of $10.00 inadditon to the service fee of $48.00 which is being paid in the first place.

AT&T never discloses these charges upon signing for the service, and AT&T is not friendly where they take off the charges when contacting them.  The customer service is worse than calling companies service department in Indian.  I was on the phone for 1 (ONE) hour bouncing from one person to another, AT&T was not able to figure out which depatment is responsible for answering my questions.  Second, as big as AT&T is they should design there website like some other companies that if the internet service is disconnected they should allow the customer to log into the AT&T account via the website and pay the bill.  Once the service is disconnected AT&T notifies you there is a problem with your account and the custome should contact the custome service no listed on the page, but does nopt allow the custome to login to the accont either make a payment or view the bill.

When I sined up of the internet service it costed me $14.99 per month and after 6 months is jumped to $58.00.  I understand that AT&T wants to make money but if the cost of internet was $14.99 to begin with then why did it jump to $58.00, this is a big difference for providing a service.  The company is virtually scamming the customers like the Nigerians to make monthly money, where there service is not even that great.  My service does not even wrk half of the time because AT&T connections are down for maintainance.  With all this said I want my service discnnected and the unnessarry charges credited.  I am willing to apy for the July service but nothing else.

I would like to know how to deal with this issue and how to have AT&T credit the charges and disconnect the service.  Please advice.

No Notice of Internet Increase

 I feel the same, as I bought into the $19.99 Internet (DSL) with AT&T and it was not an introduction. I had this service for a few years and then they just increase my bill from $19.99 a month to $33.00. I did not make any new changes to my service and neither did the company enhance anything. I have called, and emailed and all of my complaints have been ignored. I'm on board when something happens and it will because consumers are fed up with being bullied.

I appreciate your input on the subject.  The point is that AT&T has to go.  Making money and gouging are entirely differnt concepts.  Late fees maybe, I can understand; it is the people like me that employ AT&T and keep it alive, once AT&T starts to suck the blood by going beyond the means of providing a service and taking advantage of the fact that the AT&T is the only service provider in the area and they can employ mafia tactics, is going way far, people like me have to take a stand and say this is enough bullying.

 It is very interesting that companies like AT&T act like gangs by dividing the terrotieries for the services they are going to provide; if AT&T is broken or does not exist than there will be opportunities for other people and small businesses to come in and possibly provide a better service and lower prices because now there are more companies providing the same service, employing more employees and keeing the prices down.

 It is the people like me that might be in a hard position, out of a job, sick elderely, on social security, or many other financial burdens faced into days ecenomy where I/we are still EMPLOYING AT&T to provide a service, since we are dependent on it for our communication.  So dear Sir/Madam, before you decide to play the ultra Capatilism card know the difference between providing a service and making money and gouging.  

 Cost of service should not be high where work is being farmed to India where cost of living is $200 a month.  We live in America, the cost of living for a low middel class family with two kids, house, dog and a cat is well over $3000.  Hope you are able to see the difference between sending the work to India, livinvg in America, and charging American prices versus living in India and charging American prices.  Yes the call center people are enjoying high wages due to the fact that AT&T is sending vitually all aspects to Indian and classifing it as high tech labor where hard working Americans are struggling and paying high prices where AT&T is maximizing their ultra profits.  Lets see if India will still be a developing country or a third world nation if companies like AT&T decide to pull out.  I am sure India will revert to riding horses versus driving new cars and enjoying the technology boom if there is no more high tech jobs for them which WE AS AMERICAN ARE PAYING FOR THEIR LIFESTYLE.  

It shows that you have never travelled, nor exchanged your money in an international environment, nor lived in a foreign country.  Once you have done all those than many be you might begin to understand why At&T has to go and/or change the way they do business.  I stand firm that I do not want AT&T service and I am going to find a way other than your biased opnion to cancel there service and find someone else.  If a more drastic action needs to be taken by moving from the area where they do not provide service then I might just have to do that.

 

Thank you once again for you opinion.  Which by the way in also only allowed in a free country just like gouging commited by AT&T.

 Sorry but your stuck with it. You signed a contract. Of course AT&T isnt going to be able to disclose EVERY SINGLE FEE to you. As for your bill going from 14.99 to 58.00 is easy to explain. Its called a introductory offer. You get the service for a minimal price but after 90 days or six months it goes back to its regular price. You seem to think that you shouldnt be held responsable for the mistakes you make. Well the world no longer gives ppl a pass anymore. If you were late with your payment, then you have to pay the fees. ATT doesnt care what your excuse is. You are attempting to use a double standard. If ATT just let ppl like you have a pass every single time there was a billing issue. There wouldnt be a ATT. You were late with your payment, get over yourself and pay what you LEGALLY owe.

I see your use of exageration is well used, as well as your ability to play the victim. Let me give you some free advice. READ YOUR CONTRACT!!!!!!! Im 100% sure that if you read the contract you will see a line in it that states " Late payments will be subjected to any and all applicable fees".
