AT&T charges $30 to reconnnect your cable, $30 to reconnect your internet, and $30 to reconnect your home phone????

Total of $90. the equivalent of the whole cable bill.

Remeber all three of these services are connected to one single box, which is the ROUTER. All AT&T does is disable/de-activate your ROUTER, and obviously, none of the services will work, because they are all connected to this one single ROUTER. After you pay your bill, all AT&T does is enable the ROUTER, and all your services will work, again, because they are all connected to this one single box. This is where AT&T rips people off, and no one is doing anything about it. They should only charge the $30 to re-activate/enable the ROUTER.

I interviewed two gentleman, one from the water company, and the other from the gas company. I asked the guy from the water company if it would be lagal for the water company to charge me $30 additional fee for each, the washing machine, sink, toilet, and shower to work, due to the fact that they are all connected to this one single water meter. He said that is ridiculous because all he does is to  turn off the water meter, and obviously nothing connected to the water line will work.

Once he turns on the water meter, voila, you'll have a working wahing machine, toilet, shower, and sink. The guy from the gas company said the same thing when i asked him the same question about my gas stove and my gas water heater. If i would be lagal for the gas company to charge me a $30 reconnection additional fee, for each, the gas stove and the water heater.  His reply was the same. Once he turns on the gas, everything connected to the gas line will wok.

Well, AT&T is getting away with it.

Your argument is flawed..

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

Sure you can talk to other UTILITY companies and present your case, but you have left out a few pieces. You fail to consider that even though its only one box, there are THREE services that go through that box. I suspect that you have a bundle setup. This is what is causing your issue Im sure.

AT&T will continue to get away with it BECAUSE its THREE sevices going through that box. If you ONLY had one of the services then this wouldnt be a issue. But YOU made the descion to go with a bundled package, this is the cost of NOT PAYING YOUR BILL!! You had to be more then 30 days behind in your payments. This means you are probably 2-3 months behind when they turned it off. YOU had that much time to pay your bill so you wouldnt be hit with a reconnection fee. So I ask you this...Whos fault is it?

Is it AT&T for not letting you skate another month useing their services for free since you had not paid, or your fault for NOT PAYING YOUR BILL? I think the answer is evident to all who read your post. Youre just bi+ching because the price of not paying your bill is a reconnect fee. For SOME odd reason YOU think its perfectly alright to NOT pay your bill and YOU shouldnt be held to the very same standards that EVERYONE else has to deal with.

Wireless is NOT a UTILITY. Until we as Americans get it turned into a utility we will have to deal with issues like this. I will point you in the right direction but you can expect the same disbelief from them as I have shown. You can TRY and contact the FCC and register a complaint. But it will be found to have ZERO merit. And is COMPLETLY your fault for NOT paying your bill.

I can understand the frustration but why complain about AT&T when all they did is charge you a reconnect fee. YOU know the rules. Pay your bills and stuff doesnt get shut off. Meaning that you wont have to pay a reconnect fee. I myself have had bill go past due. But I made the choice to NOT pay and that means I MUST accept the consiquences of that choice.
