from Jan 2012 until Jan 2013 a nearly 15% increase in basic phone service noted. The increase in fees were enacted incrementally throughout the year, so unless the consumer scrutinizes the bill it can be overlooked. When a customer service rep was asked the reason for the ongoing increases, this consumer was given a short answer that this is att doing business. does the state of california regulate how much a phone company can increase their basic service fees annually?
