Dave Adelson, a former AAMCO franchise owner advertises on Craigslist that he is a recruiter for AAMCO and is seeking to hire an official representative for a given AAMCO franchise location. Problem is he is acting on his own authority with no endorsement from AAMCO corporate whatsoever. They simply tolerate his ways and probably keep no log of his whereabouts or activities either. He does not indicate to you that he is a consultant either until he meets you on your "first day" at which point you realize that this is not a "first day on the job" after all but a dog-n-pony show to put on for the franchise owner. He is not authorized to offer you a job either, and he will even buy you a coffee or a sandwich for your participation. He is engaged in an attempt to pimp you to a franchise owner so he can collect an over ride on your productivity and/or collect a finder's fee. [continued below]....

So if you answer an ad run by this apparent retiree-keeping-busy be aware of the vital details he leaves out from his "spiel". I was fooled because there is a job description called Outside Sales Representative on the website but upon closer inspection it is linked to a recruiter1@aamco.com and not the aamcorecruit@yahoo.com email that I sent my resume to. I had noticed the discrepancy earlier it would have thrown up a red flag that I was drawn into someone's game as a mere participant - just because I am looking for work.
