Aaron McCormick At Your Feet Flooring Does not show up and finish the work. Stole $13,000 of my money! Coeur d alene , Idaho

I would like you to be aware of the situation I have had with Aaron John McCormick from At Your Feet Flooring RCT-30366 working out of Coeur dAlene, ID.   I were referred to Aaron by a local carpet store in Spokane, WA.  I hired him to refinish my hardwood floors in the fall of 2010. He did a really nice job on the floors and got them done in a timely manner. Only complaint about that job is he did some damage to the wall and never repaired it. (That should have been the first red flag). After that job was done, I asked for an estimate to get her basement bathroom redone, there was a mold issue and it needed to be addressed. Aaron McCormick gave me an estimate and they went over the costs and I agreed. The next morning I emailed him and said I was very unsettled about spending the money at this time and I want to wait on this project at this time (this was less than 24 hours after I agreed to do the project).  He told me it was too late he had ordered all the tile and supplies and she would have to spend 25% of the total cost of the supplies to restock them if I did not do the bathroom remodel project. With much concern and hesitation she agreed to do the project so I would not be out thousands of dollars on restocking fees.  (I personally dont believe that she would have incurred those charges, just Aaron strong arming her to force her to do the project). I paid him thousands for the supplies but they put the project on hold until late spring 2011 (end of June). He is still working on the bathroom and it is now December 2011.

Aaron makes lots of promises he is going to work on the bathroom and then does not show up when he says he will. The final straw was in October 2011, comes to my house at night, after he doesnt show up numerous times to work on the bathroom and he starts demanding me for the full payment upfront $13,000.00. By October, had already paid him over $9000.00 and the project is still only half way done. I thought contractors took before the project and after, nothing in the contract said he needed all the money upfront. I asked him to itemize the bill; his billing was incorrect with many mathematical errors and overcharges. He had an original bill and never did amendments to the changes he made along the way so most of the charges after the original agreement were exorbitant and inflated. The second bill was completely different then the first bill he made it so confusing on how he charged that its was comparing apples to oranges, he didnt separate labor cost to supply cost. When asking him where he came up with the charges he became defensive and rude and insisted he had integrity and was giving me a great price.

The work keeps dragging on and only of the tile is laid or grouted, no toilet installed, the vanity/sink and shower door has not been installed and the door needs to be replaced. Basically, the bathroom has been completely unusable for 6 months. My daughter has no where to shower because the upstairs bathroom only has a tub. If he would just do the work it would only take a couple of days to finish. Aaron McCormick preys on homeowners and there are so many contractors out there be careful and do you homework! Buyer BEWARE!
