I went to Aaron's to rent a washer and dryer and was suppose to get free detergent but never received it. took them two weks to deliver the merchandise and everytime w would call to ask it was someone else'e fault(like the shipment didn't come in or the merchandise was messed up).

when they finlly did deliver they hooked merchandise up wrong. our floor got flooded. my husband ended up fixing and we couldn't use the dryer for two more days because they didn't have the right stuff to hook it up. my husband ended up fixing everything.

we would go in to pay and then someone would call or show up wanting money. when we finally had enough I tried to make an appointment for them to come pick merchandise up and they wouldn't make an appointmetn. the guy i talked to Cody, said he would have someone contact me.

then nothing until the corporate office called my husband saying this office had complained that we weren't paying and refusing to give back merchandise. so my husband set up an appointment on feb. 9 at 7 pm. so he would be here and he told them not to come and bother me because he was going to be out of town till that day.

so on feb8 at about 8:30pm there was a knock on the door and before i could get to the door they started banging on the door and holding in the doorbell. i went to see who it was and when i looked out i saw a man go into my front yard and the other banged some more then went and got into the truck. the man that went around to my front yard started going around banging on windows and stepping on plants.

the other man pulled infront of my garage kind of trapping me and held the horn until my neighbors finally yeld to shut up then he pulled against the house and revved the motor so the whole house shook then he pulled out backed in and held that back up beeper on for about 5 minutes and tarted the honking allover again all while the other guy was still sneaking around the house. then they finally left.

about 9pm the next night when they were supposse to be there they never showed up and then today my husband is gone again and they come knocking on the door at a time that i am normally at work because i work for a school so how did they know i was off? and started harrassing me again threating to call the cops if i didn't let them in right then.

i said just come back tonight at around 6pm and my husband will be here but they refused. they left i called the corporate office in georgia and they said too bad because they said they showed up and we refused to let them in on the 9th so they were no help either.

so i shoved the washer and dryer outside while they were gone and good thing to because they came back and tried to harass me some more but this time i didn't open the door for they had no reason to come in i said just leave the receipt outside and they said you don't get one if we can't come in. now why did they need to come in so bad the merchandise was outside the one gy even made the comment before he left the first time i will be coming in there today you wait and see.

this is plain harassment and something should be done. if anyone knows who i can contact please let me know. i already contacted the bbb. when i told the corporate office i would be contacting the bbb he said so others have does no good. they need to be stopped. I feel more sorry about my children than anything else they thought someone was trying to break in that night my 5 year old was in tears.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

Don't Be Harrassed

AUTHOR: Sabrina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 27, 2006

I am renting to own with Aaron's and have never had a problem with them. I never make a payment with a card, I always pay by check, money order or will go in and pay by cash (and receive a receipt). When they were pounding and honking and making such a commotion at your place of residence, you should have called the police (that way you would have a report which is your proof that you were harassed). Even if they (Aaron's employees) came harassing you 2-3 times daily, then call the police 2-3 times and make sure you have your copies of your reports. That was harassment straight up and it would've never happened to me. I only deal with 3 employees at Aaron's and I even let Aaron's know that I was not about to deal with the employees who I do not know or they don't know my account. If you have to, deal with the manager and make sure you know his/her name and get to know the names of several other employees at Aaron's so that if you have to go in, go to the desk and ask for these people. The Aaron's I deal with are very professional. I have never had a problem with them. I am a preferred customer and anytime I want to lease to own they give me half off. I am always on time with my payments. I was one day late once, and all Aaron's did was leave a recorded message that said something like "Perhaps you forgot about your payment? This is just a reminder. If you have already sent in payment, please disregard this message. Thank you for being a preferred customer of Aaron's". I know one person who was not satisfied with the service at Aaron's. She ended up doing business with another Aaron's store who she was satisfied with. My point is, when you're being harassed, don't just sit there and take it. Call the police, get your copy of the police report and then call Aaron's and ask to speak to the manager and let them know of the situation. You could've brought charges against them if you had the proof. Harassment is against the law. You did have witnesses though? (your neighbors)
