I call TECH & CORP to let them know the issues with replacing a HD to orginal. In OCt 07 the computer was running warm/hot and very slow so I called TECH and was told to increase the RAM memory. They did not have an Acer memeory and was told by TECH to buy from someone else (down 1 week) Nov 07 I was on a trip and the computer totally crashed when doing mutlimedia and was very hot!. It was very hot and would not restart. (down 3 weeks) They trip was paid so I could teaxh from the field using video and sending images. I could not use the computer. When I returned I had another ITS person check the computer, they were able to restart it and found that the HD WAS NOT replaced (TECH LIED), my old files were there and it had just been restored.
SInce I had replaced all the files and the fiels were there, we assumed that this was part of the reason for the conflict and crash. The D drive was erased and the computer worked but was still warm and slow.I calle dTECH and asked wqhat to do and was told to get a laptop fan instead of the laptop stand. Late DEC 07 I was scannign pictures for my job and the computer became hot and crashed. I was able to restart and had to use an ice pack to cool the computer. I called TECH and related all that happened, NOTHING WAS recorded of the prior conversations (TECH LIED) except in July 07. I was told to send back the computer with the programs, extra memeory and cord. JAn 08 I bought a back up drive and backed up the computer this time. I send the computer and 24 hours after they recieved it the computer was sent back. I called TECH and asked, I was told that the HD was replaced. Iwas very upset, had the call esculated to no avail.
Since no one wrote my reasons, nothing happen, replacing the HD is what they do always reguardless of what is happening. I called CORP. Iwas told that I could get an old but new computer but it would take months or the computer coudl be repaired AGAIN. I was cofinced to try the repair first. AFter 3 weeks (no computer) the TECH called and said that they coudl not replicate ther issue, I told them before and then that without the programs it would not happen. I explained AGAIN (since nothing had been written about issues) and the TECH said it sounded like the CPU and mother board which he would replace and load up programs to test. 1 week goes by and CORP calls me back afte rI heard nothign and said what did I want done.
I told them that the TECH said he was going to repair the computer and now 1 week later nothign happened (AGAIN TECH LIED). I now wanted my computer replaced since I did not trust the TECH. I escualted to another CORP person who refused. A sof this date I still have no computer (2 weeks after conversation) DO NOT TRUST ACER!
