I took my car to the dealer looking for expert repair and professionalism. I was fairly new to the area and wanted my vehicle to get the correct parts and reliable service. This took place in November , the start of the holidays. The dealership or service advisors were trying to win some service award, and trying their best to make clientele happy,and told me about that.I went along with it. I brought my car in to repair cruise control ( I'm partially disabled) have a bad right leg and bad back....cruise control is a must for me.
the engine light was coming on when car got to a certain temp. then the speedometer went crazy, looked like a metronome. long story short, I had to order all the parts, they (the trainee) working on my car didn't know how to repair the speedometer, I had to do the research, order the part and also he gave me a list of parts that may or may not be the right ones to repair the cruse control....they had my car for a week, they gave me a loaner, I did not request one as the paperwork stated...I got my car back, they couldn't fix the cruise control, the engine light was still coming on with a hard start, not starting at all.
Upon leaving the dealership after they had it for a week, I immediately called and spoke with Tom Mendoza and told him the engine light came on, it was making weird noises, the steering wheel was really loose feeling , a lot of play in it and of course the cruise control wasn't repaired, my bill was $1,108.46 for rear brakes, etc.....I wan't my car repaired because my Mothers health was failing and I knew it wouldn't be long before I would have to drive to be with her. A couple of months later my Mom died, I had to rent a car to go be with her.
It cost me about $700.00. I have auto parts from salvage cos. that are non refundable, they had me ordering parts. The trainee didn't know how to repair anything. my car is now due for a smog cert and will not pass due to the non repair of the problems. I , in good faith trusted these people. I was scheduled with an appointment one day and called to say I was on my way, when the service rep told me, "we're really slammed, we have to take care of our normal customers"
I said "WHAT?" OMG...now I'm being insulted...after being ripped off....this is so totally unacceptable and unprofessional.... there is more, but I'm saving it for the lawsuit. When I called corporate, Tony said " sounds like your car can't be repaired" He was passive aggresive and made me feel worse. AGHHHHH
he is in their customer service.......I owned and maintained a Mercedes prior to this car, an older model, and I was always treated extremely well at (((competitor's name redacted))) in Santa Monica.Never insulted, never ripped off, never even a feeling of negativity. I am not the problem, I am a paying customer, my car has the problem...now acura is going to have a problem....since then, I have heard they don't have a good reputation, I can see why...shady...it gets worse
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
