My husband, Mike ****** was contacted for the first time in 2 years by Tad Technical. He had a good stable contracting job in Oklahoma for the last 7 months.
Judy at Tad Technical called and claimed Learjet was hiring, but they were also on strike. Mike told her to not contact him unless they get off strike.
2 weeks later Judy calls him and says Learjet is hiring and according to existing contractors who had been there for some time work is going strong. I was not convienced when my husband first told me.
Judy reassured us after checking again that work was stable and steady. Prior to leaving Oklahoma Mike was warned by a co-worker that Learjet burned him badly. On the day we arrived back in Wichita, Kansas we were warned by a Wal-Mart employee.
This Wal-Mart employee was helping s find solid red t-shirts that Learjet required all contractors to wear. She told us that Learjet was a very impersonal company. According to her if they don't like you, they get rid of you within 2 weeks.
This was based on what happened to her husband. Truth has a funny way of making itself known out to the streets and in public. Mike got shafted in exactely 2 weeks from the time he started. Learjet said work slowed down, when only last week they had a meeting about working through Christmas.
Mike called Tad Technical and spoke to his contact, Judy. She didn't know what was going on. She called HR at Learjet they didn't even know. Obviously the right and left hand weren't speaking. It eventully came out that Learjet was getting rid of all contractors.
Grabbing for straws Mike asked Judy what about the long term steady employment or even contracting out to different areas within the Learjet. She coldly told her that there was nothing for him here in Wichita and started to renege on anything she said concerning the jobs stability that she had said prior to Mike signing that horrible contract agreement with Adecco/Tad Technical.
This person at Adecco/Tad Technical wouldn't even support my huband when his as well as my decision on coming back to Kansas was based on her knowledge and word, for what little it has proven to be worth. Judy callously reminded my husband over the phone "that's just the way contract work goes."
Well, let me remind her or anyone else that reads this letter that his job was, was, was, stable a whole lot more stable than what Adecco/ Tad Technical had to offer. 2 weeks vs. 7 months do the math.
Addecco the parent company of Tad Technical was sent a more detailed letter via email complaining about their sister company. To this day there has been no responce from them. This wasn't the first time Adecco/Tad Technical burned us. This last time broke the camel's back and it will be the last time. But for anyone word of advice in our opinon "stay away from Adecco/Tad Technical, they ruin people's lives."
