As the person from the 3/02/06 complaint mentioned I to purchased a insurance policy through Adova. The main difference that sets us apart is that I was told the policy was underwritten by Chesapeake life insurance, Star HRG. She was told it was through Aetna life insurance.

When I purchased this insurance plan in November 2005 I requested a copy of the policy or certificate and was told they would send it out the next day. It is now seven months later and over 20 request but no certificate or policy.

I filed a complaint with the California department of insurance. The investigator was very keen on contacting Adova.

I did get in touch with the VP of Chesapeake (Star HRG) insurnace company. I was told Adova has no insurance plans through their company. The VP contacted Adova on my behalf and told me that I should be receiving a check for a 16 day hospitalization claim I filed for from Adova shortly. I never received a check but I did receive a letter from Adovas law firm representing them. Stateing that if I sign a "compromise settlement agreement and release" form, they would proccess my claim. Understand they did not say pay the claim but proccess the claim. In essence the release form states that I would have to give up my membership to Adova and never apply for membership again.It also goes on to state that I have to assign any benefits I might gain from my hospitalization to Adova. That I have to fully cooperate with Adova if they "initiate any action against any entity or individual based on this assigment".

After I initialy filed the claim Adova said they would not pay the claim and that if I wanted I could get a complete refund of my monthly dues ($199.99 per month)if I canceled membership. I refused and again requested a copy of the policy and for them to proccess the claim.

To this day I have not received anything from Adova except the letter from their law firm. This company is large I have been able to locate three offices in three diferent states. And here they are.
