I was very hesitant questioned the lady numerous times even broke down what she said & repeated it back. even thoough i wasnt sure of it I still played along. I did give out my savings acct. info, however i have a policy that drafts can not be maid from this acct. what was really funny is i offered the lady my debit card & she didnt want that.
I went through the whole process with the notion of checking it out when I hung. I was told this lady was through the england revenue dept. I had to pay $49.95 for processing guarenteed my a check to come to my bank on nov. 5th I was also given a federal id # (tracking #) to pick up my check.
I was still very suspicious like I told the lady my luck isnt that good. she reassured me how ever that this was no scam. I would be recieving the grant & this was my money that I had paid in.
Ater I hung up I immediately called their customer service line & it sounded like the same woman I talked to was the same to answer the phone. Also they answered advantage america instead of england revenue in which I was told was the name of the co.
IMMEDIATELY I knew my suspsions were rite. The woman asked for my info to pull up my account well then she said my account takes 24 to 48 hrs to load. At that point i let her know what i felt was going on & tried to scare her by saying I was checking them out on better business bureau. She never shuttered much to my surprise & started pitching me health ins. I interupted & told her I didnt want health ins I have it i want my damn grant.
She completely started picking apart the lie. When I told her i was pissed b/c that wasnt what i was told or what I agreed to she told me she was filling out a misrepresentation claim & to call back in 24 to 48 hrs to check status. (how generous)
When I hung up I called my bank & let them know that they did have info for savings & no transactions should go through. Once they assured me I had nothing to worry about I then called the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
Through the BBB I filed an informational claim. They also told me to contact the MO attorney generals office consumers investigators to double check to see if such grant exists. Once I had been assured I was scammed I got really pissed. Not only did they violate my rights they made feel stupid.
I do plan to call them however today to check the status of my acct. to see what their new lie is. Surely they have got to know i am on to it.
I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE WHO RIPS OFF THE WORKING MAN/TAXPAYER. Especially some foreign f***ers that have to con innocent people just to get by. More than likely if they are here in this country they are illegal aliens or have just applied for a green card & dont pay taxes anyway. How they sleep at nite is beyond me. I wish all bad karma their way.
