Afni Ripoff FRAUDULANT COLLECTION AGENCY trying to collect on unpaid Verizon New York home telephone bills Bloomington Illinois

I received a Collection Notice in the mail from Afni, Inc. I placed a call to them the same day to inquire about the collection notice and was told they acquired the accounts from Verizon and this was outstanding debt on a home phone bill for an address in Buffalo New York and the total amount due was $1,457.82. I expained to Jeff (employee i.d. #33697) that I had never lived in New York and this was not my debt. He proceeded to ask for more personal information such as verifiying my drivers license, social security number etc. He seemed to have quite a bit of information that he was pulling from somewhere and kept asking me to verify that what he had was correct. When I said I would not verify the information he seemed adjatated. DO NOT acknowledge anything. I simply kept saying I was not going to answer any of his questions, was not paying any outstanding debt and certainly was verifying the information he had was correct or incorrect.
