Airsprung Beds Airsprung Airsprung Nottingham 5 Zone Latex Mattress - Virtually NO LATEX!! Richmond , Nationwide
I opened up an Airsprung Mattress. The model was a Nottingham. It says on the label that it is a FIVE ZONE latex mattress. It has a distinct pillow top that is supposed to be the latex.
What I found was 4 layers of one inch thick polyurethane foam the size of the bed (queen) and 2 small pieces of latex sandwiched in between the frame and the foam. These latex pieces WERE NOT EVEN THE SIZE OF THE BED they were less than a half of an inch thick and only 12 niches wide by about 70 inches long. (the width of a Queen bed)
The inner core was cheap springs and the bed sunk in the middle.
A zoned latex mattress is supposed to have more dense latex in the middle for back support and softer latex where your shoulders go for comfort and back support. This bed was neither.
You are led to believe that the entire pillow top (about 4 to 5 inches and the size of a queen bed)
is zoned latex and all latex where in actual fact, the amount of latex in this mattress is so minimal to the point of making absolutely no affect on the mattress support or any feature of the mattress at all.
Total rip off!!
