In 2009 we purchased 2 cocker spaniels from Aimee Fowler aka Webb for almost $2000.00 She required that one be sent right out with handlers to work towards their AKC Championship. We did so and put 6000 in him to get him his championship, he was a beautiful dog and placed in Nationals. He got his championship at a little over a year old, we had him sent home and I took him to the eye doctor the next morning to get his CERF only to have the eye doctor tell me" I'm sorry, your dog has a juvenile cataract."

Aimee did NOTHING about this, didn't offer us any money back but said she would give us another puppy in exchange. We asked her numerous times but it never happened.

Now on to dog number 2........While she always cleared her eyes we found out after her first litter of pups that she has slipped hocks and while her prelim x rays at 1 1/2 came back at a fair when we took her in for her OFA's they said that she wouldn't pass. So now she has to get spayed as well. So almost 10,000 dollars later we ended up with 2 pets that we could have gotten from a rescue for 200.00

The 2nd dog we bought also has major behavioral issues, she is VERY skittish and we have witnesses that she was this way from the day that we picked her up at the airport.

I agree that there is a reason Aimee doesn't allow anyone to come to her house or gives anything but a PO Box as a mailing address. What's saddening to me is that she is still producing badly bred pups and no one has been able to shut her down. Someone should do to her what she has done to thousands of puppies.

Someone else I know on facebook has one of her dogs and he just had a seizure at 3 years old. Goes to show that there is nothing good that comes out of this puppy mill.

Again- nothing but lies from this breeder

Just for the record, we never intentionally had a litter out of Ruckus as we do not breed dogs with health problems, which is why the whole litter was petted out and the owners notified of the dads problems.  I had the mom (Stargazer's Anticipation) outside in a securely fenced in pen when my niece opened the door and let Ruckus out while I was at the grocery store. They bred through the fence which is why we didn't even know the breeding took place til she kept getting bigger.

Concerning her saying I couldn't handle his marking? I have an intact male right now that we have had for the last 5 years (MHCs A Whisper of Winter) and we have no issues with him. Marking is a training issue and can easily be resolved so that definitely wouldn't be a reason for me to give a dog up.

Ruckus DID have juvenile cataracts as he was diagnosed with them at just barely a year old.  I took him to two different eye doctors that verified that and I'm sure if needed I can get those records. But I'm not worried about what this breeder says. Her reputation speaks for itself.

As far as Dream goes and me having bred her and kept a puppy from her. Dream has her CHIC clearances and the father of the litter has his ofa/patella/cerf as well. Due to Dream passing all her required breed clearances we did breed her and bred her to a dog that does not have slipped hocks. Her clearances can be found on the OFA website under Aj's N MHC's Born To Be A Big Sky Dream as can her daughters which Aimee would know but failed to mention in her rebuttal. Feel free to go to our website and look up Ruckus' parents on the OFA website as well and you will a see what health testing was done on them.  Dreams behavioral problems have never changed and definitely were not genetic but due to how she was treated before we got her as none of her puppies are skittish or timid. God only knows what the poor girl was put thru before we got her at 6 months old.

I don't need to hide anything in my program. If there is a problem we let people know, because its the only fair thing to do and I have never had a complaint about any of the puppies that we have put into homes, which is more than I can say for Aimee. Even to this day, I have people come to me and tell me how many health issues their dogs have that they bought from her. If you need proof you can send me an email at miracleheartcockers@yahoo.com. Aimee is just now starting to breed again which is why she is trying to clear up her reputation. If Aimee was such a reputable breeder, why would she change her kennel name from AJ Kennels to Cakebread cockers? She can be found on facebook under that name. We have had our same name since we started breeding. People like Aimee shouldn't be breeding. Now with all this information, please do your research before deciding on who is a reputable breeder as a lot of them are wolves in sheeps clothing and are in it just to make a buck.

Before you judge me get the facts straight

I was advised by an attorney not to say anything about this so I let it be as I was told to not say something is better than saying something at times, but after years it still continues to play a role in my life. So, I now am going to defend myself. Let me say I have been breeding dogs most of my adult life, 15 years to be exact. I have produced multiple AKC Champions. I was one of the Top Breeders in 2008. I was AKC inspected every year and passed. I was State Licensed every year and passed. My Veterinarian inspected all of my dogs each year and passed. All my dogs were up to date on shots, wormings, dental, vet checked, rabies. All my males and some females were DNA’d. CERF’s and Patella’s were done on Nov 2011 all passed! I did more for my breed than I can say for some breeders. I have raised almost 850 puppies in that time frame. Breeders do not hold crystal balls; we can do the best we can do. We are producing living animals, just like with our own children we can’t tell if they are going to need glass, need braces, have a medical illness or operations. It is just when, as our breed and many other breeds have many health issues there are lists of health issues. If you don’t want health issues in any dog, don’t get a dog. It comes with the territory. Producing a couple of puppies that have some medical issues is going to happen. PERIOD! Even if I produced a handful of puppies with some type of health issues I think I did pretty well. I think I have pretty good odds to be honest with you. Where do we here from all the HAPPY people that got puppies from me, there is no place. Or how about looking at countless breeders with my dogs in their pedigree’s that they breed to this day. Now for the details: In 2013 I was put on my website that I was placing Ruckus aka Ch. AJ’s & MHC’s Born to Cause a Ruckus up for sale into a pet home as my older son was going to go to college and couldn’t take the dog with him. Shortly after that Jennifer got angry with me and then this is when this started again. And this report took place. Lets first start off with Ruckus, was shipped back to me to Omaha, Nebraska via an airplane and when he came out of his crate he was bone skinny she blamed it on her handlers and the handlers who are well known denied it and showed me photos of him when he left their possession. I took photos of him when I obtained him and showed other breeders the condition I got him in. *If I was that bad of a breeder why would I have taken back a fixed male Cocker Spaniel? I couldn’t use him for anything if I was just in it for the money. Why, because I am a responsible breeder! Next, let me tell you that Ruckus didn’t have juvenile cataracts, he had a punctate cataract and it was at a breeders option to breed him or not to and even an AKC judge told me she couldn’t believe he got fixed over that. After he didn’t clear his CERF’s Ruckus immediately went to her home and bred Stargazer’s Great Anticipation where he produced one litter of puppies from Ruckus for her. (She forgot to mention that!) (If I was so bad of a breeder, having known there was an issue was not responsible on her part) One of her major complaints she had about Ruckus is because he was being a male and lifting his leg on everything and that is causing her grief and that was due to him being a show dog and I tried to tell her that and another breeder tried to tell her this. This was another reason why he came back to me. **Attached you will see a page off of her website about Ruckus. You will also see proof of a litter of puppies out of him. You will also see a conversation that I had in Dec. 2014 with her about him. ***Continued to the 2nd dog mentioned: Now let’s go to the 2nd dog named Aj’s N MHC’s Born To Be A Big Sky Dream aka Dream. Most responsible breeders wait to breed their dogs after 2 yrs of age or have testing done to clear them before breeding. She mentions on her website that she did pass her OFA’s and that she is OFA Fair and Fair is passing. Per our conversation she states she did pass her patella’s. So, what is it… Is she miss leading her new puppy buyers? Dream did have a litter of puppies. She also sold puppies to other breeders. She states this in her conversation with me. Then she keeps a female puppy out of that litter that she did which is MHC’s Wild Honey aka Suki and produced a litter out of her. So, it makes me wonder really what the truth is, is she just as unethical breeder because she has the results in front of her and she continues to breed no matter if they have a health issue or not. It’s kinda like calling the kettle black. Or did she pass her OFA and Patella’s and she is just trying to get people not to purchase puppies from me. She also states her temperament is skittish, but on her website she states she has a wonderful temperament. It can’t be both. Yes, I had and still have a Po Box, I lived out in the country and rarely used my physical address even for bills as I wanted to make sure I got them. Even with one litter every year or every other year I still have a Po. Box so this statement makes no sense I know all kinds of people that have PO Boxes are they hiding too! NOT I truly believe that she was angry when she made this post, she was upset with me because I was placing Ruckus in a new home, which I get the chance to go and see him if I would like as he is the only dog. She just got mad and she is trying to ruin me for whatever it is worth to her and she is no better of a breeder than I am. She states this in our conversation in Dec 2014. I really feel this is a deformation of character as she is trying to ruin my name by only telling half truths and letting others believe it is poor me. ****Attached you will see the page off her website of Dream for proof You will see a page off her website of her daughter that she kept. You will see a conversation that she and I had in Dec 2014 Again: Producing a couple of puppies that have some medical issues is going to happen. PERIOD! Even if I produced a handful of puppies with some type of health issues I think I did pretty well. I think I have pretty good odds to be honest with you.

Aimee is no more than a puppy mill

AUTHOR: Kathy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, January 13, 2013

Aimee is no more than a puppy mill ran out of a barn. She cares nothing for the breed or what she has done to it. She may have started with good intenions but money and greed turned her into an ugly nasty person who will pay in the long run for what she has done to so many people and so many Cockers.

I for one am glad to see her run is almost over on her internet website...that is if she is not running puppies on the puppy mill pipeline. She hurt my family and sent us a sick poor bred puppy with nothing but health problems, thousands spent on vet bills, she never refunded any money or replacement puppy as promised. She is just a bad person with no standards or morals!!
