I began working with Alaskan Home Services on December 3, 2012.  During my interview I was told (by Tony Bohar) that I would have a desk to work at and the opportunity to make very good money.  I was also told I would be paid $50, a day for training.  I was also told I would be paid per permit I pulled from a City or County.  Permits would be paid at a rate of $40 to $75.00.  During the first week I pulled a total of five permits 4 at $40 and one at $65 because it took the entire day due to the fact that the job had been done 2 years prior and a permit had never been pulled.  The gentleman was an elderly cancer patient and had had his gas shut off and it was getting cold.  I worked on it all day and finally got the customer's gas turned back on and was told I would be paid $65 for that permit.  The permits I was to be paid $75 on were if I had to do load calculations which required the use of a software program that had only two licenses both of which were on Tony's computers.  I could not get the software loaded onto my computer to be able to use it the whole time I worked for Alaskan.  I was not being paid an hourly wage but almost everyday I was forced to do work in the office including IT work, which I was not being paid for.  

I worked the first week, being shuffled from desk to desk, at times not having any where to do my work without complaint.  I would like to mention that Tony Bohar's girlfriend also worked in the office and during that first week that I was supposed be getting my desk, he was busy setting up his girlfriend' desk in his office new desk and all.  After that first week I returned to work on Monday to the same thing.  I went to ORO Valley to pull two permits and returned back to the office.  Again I asked about the software I needed, and also when I would have a desk to work from.  I was virtually ignored.  On Tuesday I returned back to the office and was not even allowed in to Jeff's office.  I had left some paperwork and the phone numbers that I needed to do my work on Jeff's desk, so AGAIN, I could not complete my work.  At that point I decided the situation was not going to work for me and I quit the company.  I was sent a text message from Jeff Hoover saying the if I did not return one shirt I was given, it would be deducted from my check.  I told him I did not want the shirt and I would return it when I picked up my check.  I must also mention during one of my permit stops the company credit card was declined due to non-payment and after using my own money to park the meter ran out while I was waiting for the Company to settle the issue with the credit card, I got a parking ticket.  

Not only did I never Authorize Alsakan Home Services to deduct anything from my check, they did anyway.  They deducted all of my training pay, they deducted $65 for the parking ticket, and also for the one shirt I was allowed.  Why would the think I would want to advertise for them???   Long story short what they ended up paying me did not even amount to $5 an hour.  

During that first week I also had to listen to a lot of belittling treatment of other employees at Tony Bohar's hands.  It was extremely stressful.  he is a horrible manager/person.

This company is extremely crooked and have a very high turnover rate, and unless you are sleeping with Tony Bohar, you are not treated fairly.  I must add he is a salesman for the company, this tells you a bit about his character.  I would not trust Tony Bohar enough to buy anything from him.  The Labor Board also wants to talk to me about this.  I have an appointment next Monday.

Alaskan is known in the industry as a JOKE! ALL service techs are paid COMMISION ONLY!.... what this means is they have to be deceitful and dishonest about the real issues with the system in order to inflate the repair bill, to make any money. 20% comission on a $150 repair is only $30 each tech is only given 3 jobs a day.... How can they make $100,000+ a year??? You do the math. "deceitful and dishonest in order to inflate the repair bill"

Giving a tech 3 jobs a day will only feed his family if.... he is deceitful and dishonest in order to inflate the repair bill. Believe me I know.

I am a employee of Alaskan and this lady is out of her mind.  she was worst employee.  she was FIRED for her incompetence.  99 percent of what she says her is untrue.

i cant believe how much false information is being put on the internet.

First of all Deb was rude to the office staff and to customers. She spent all day doing nothing and wanting to get paid for it. Im sorry but thats not how it works in arizona. She never even finished 1 permit. Nothing she stated is true. I sure hope her next job has a desk with a queen chair so she can be happy.
