I purchased travel insurance for a trip and 3 months before we were supposed to travel my husband had 5 emergency surgeries.
After preparing a 30 page package with backup information, emergency room reports, and doctors statements, Allianz rejected the claim because he "visited" the doctor a few weeks before his EMERGENCY ROOM visit. His visit was for a completely different problem, but Allianz Travel Insurance did not care.
Needeless to say, I am out our travel expenses and insurance. There is absolutely no point in purchasing travel insurance from Allianz because you are NOT covered in case of emergency. They push for you to purchase the insurance, but not many people can actually get a claim approved after an emergency. Save your money and stay away from Allianz Travel Insurance.
