Search TipsAs a company IRMC employs over 7,000 people all over the world. As an employer we have a dedication to paying our employees a living wage, which is more than can be said for many firms of our size. The company isn't only in business of collecting on third party debt we also are in the market for customer service and retention as well as technical support. Most of our collection divisions do not collect on paper we have purchased for pennies on the dollar. A majority of our third party collections is on a contract rate for the client meaning it is they who "own" the debt.
I like to believe that as an agent I do help people. It is my job to come to compromise. The client I happen to service (The United States Department of Education) does litigate against people, seize taxes and will garnish wages at 15% (more is you are a federal employee)
I help people avoid this. It is not a threat if it is something that will happen. My company makes money based on cash collected which includes and money we garnish from your check. Most of the time the programs that we can offer individuals based on the status of their default will cost them far less than 15% of what they make a month.
Our number one goals as agent is to find a resolution on every account we work. I bonus off of not only money I collect and people I garnish but also people I get approved for loan forgiveness programs and people I refere for discharge based on permanent disabillity and socioeconomic reasons that prevent them from repayaying their loans. I would hope you would not take the advise of the people who have posted on this board.
If you are in debt it is in your best intrest to work with someone on a resolution. If you are not the person in question realize when we call we would love to tell you why we are calling but privacy act laws simply don't always allow. For example: Would you like someone you know getting a call from Suzy billcollector in regaurds to your unpaid credit card bill with Bank of America that you are now 120 days late on and owe $5,200 on? I know I wouldn't!
I too am going through the same thing with these people (if that's what you want to call them). They wouldn't give me a name or address either. I had to find information about them through this site. But I do know, DON'T TALK TO THEM OR TRY TO DEAL WITH THEM. It won't work. I have been given some very good advise from others on this site. Allied uses all kinds of scare tactics to get you to bend and break. Read some of the other reports. Keep a record of when they call and contact the FTC. I did and got a response back. I'm still dealing with them myself. Good luck!

Allied Interstate are JUNK DEBT BUYERS who buy very old debts for less than a penny on the dollar. Most of these debts are far past the STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS for legal collections.
As per your rights under the FDCPA, immediately send a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS letter to them. Send this by certified mail, return reciept requested. Be sure to put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records.
As far as the recording goes, every state has different rules for if knowledge and/or consent is required.
I would just change the phone# to an unlisted one. Also blowing a whistle loudly into the ears of said crackhead is alot of fun!
