Today, January 4, 2012, I tried to cancel our service. I was informed that we could not because we have and "Active Service Agreement". In the fine print of their contract is an autorenewal. In order to cancel with them you have to send a Registered Letter with return receipt, 60 days before your renewal date.
Also in the fine print is the ability to raise prices ad naseum, and there is nothing you can do about it.
This may all be legal, but it is not ethical. We are stuck with an awful Waste removal (Allied Waste, AKA Republic Services) until July. They will be getting my registered mail soon, so it will be good bye in July,
Just thought others would like to know this information before choosing a Waste removal company. I suggest going with a locally owned company.
Caveat emptor- "Let the buyer beware!"
