WE had allstate for gosh I think 7 yrs. and then one month they just decided they didn't want to cover us anymore. We never had a car accident, only one teensy fender bender (you know, the kind where someone bumps you hard by accident, nothing serious).

Anyway they dropped us. But this is about my sister.

My sister had also decided to leave Allstate around the same time(3 yrs ago) and allstate then goes and reports them as uninsured drivers *UNKNOWN* to my sister and BIL! Even tho' my sis had already gone and gotten insurance with Geico and has never been without insurance!

So for *3* years they have been driving on suspended licenses without even knowing it!

Well long story short, my sister gets pulled over for a light out, and wo and behold, she is driving with a suspended license and she lived in a complete twilight zone nightmare for the next 3 days having to try to fix this, costing her almost a 1000 dollars in fines etc.

I advise anyone with allstate to leave them.
They are bad business.
They used to be good but not anymore.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Sounds like no case or a bad lawyer.

AUTHOR: Logical Thought - ()

If a lawyer believes that the client has a valid, honest claim then that attorney will be happy to take it into a courtroom. If the insurance company has information that the case if very weak and they also know that the person's attorney isn't willing to put it front of a judge, then that insurer makes an offer. Bottom line is that unless the attorney and the client accept the offer, (which you and your attorney obviously did), no payment is made.    You and your attorney could have only received a dime if you had agreed to it and put that in writing. And this is the insurance company's fault how?     I had to read through a lot of idiot posts tonight before deciding that this is the one I'll respond to this week. You obviously over-treated. Don't know if that was your idea or the attorney but it wasn't the insurance company who made that choice.    Would bet some strong money that there is a WHOLE lot more to this story than you've presented.

Doesn't Sound Right

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

If, as you say, your sister had already changed insurance companies and was covered, she should have had proof of those facts and should have been able to prove it in court. Don't know how it works in the state you're in, but here the DPS notifies you when your license is suspended. I'll bet there's more to this story.
