Alltel Wireless early termination fee Internet

Been an Alltel wireless customer for about 10 years. Service quality has went down hill from my home location. Still under contract for one phone until Feb 2010. Was told a couple years ago that I could cancel service and pay out remainder of contract at what ever the minimum contract amount was at time of cancellation.
Canceled service and moved account to Verizon wireless 12/2009. Now Alltel is charging me a $200 early termination fee. This is nearly double the minimum service fee for the one phone that was under contract. I was told by customer service that this was because I took the other three phone that were out of contract to Verizon. What B.S.
