I was told ATT merged with Cingular but not in owensboro, it had sold that part to Alltel. Alltel sent me a card stating I had to bring my old phones in(which wasn't a month old)to get new ones for their plans. I done so.
I went in got new phone upgraded them and all, got a audiovox 8910 used it up til two months ago when the pin to where you charged it fell out, couldn't turn the phone on. I had moved to a different city in Ky, but kept my cell phone. I had them Change my number for better reception.
Well when they did that they took my insurance off my phone changed my plan. When the pin fell out of the phone I called to do an insurance claim. It was then that they told me I had no insurance, Eventhough I had been paying for full coverage insurance on my phone. There excuse was when making a number change the phone service starts all over, I ask them if it was there mistake of taking it off. They told me no it was when the number changed. I told the sales rep/ that when I called I only wanted better reception I didn't ask for anything else on my account to change. She said she understood.
Talked to her supervisor got my insurance back on my phone. But i was told that my insurance wouldn't pay for my phone That I would have to pay $50.00 for a claim. I then proceded to ask why I had to pay that was why i had full coverage insurance on itin case anything like this went wrong.
Well they would not do a claim on my insurance unless I paid the money and I wouldn't pay the $50.00 for a claim. I thought That was Why I was paying For full coverage insurance. I was ask to pay either the 50.00 or the 275.00 to terminate my service. I said well I want to have the phone turned off because i haven't got 50.00 after paying for my bill.
So I am now still today with out a cell phone because this company SCREWED ME OVER. THEIR INSURANCE IS A FRAUD. DON'T GET IT.
