I wish I would have checked my favorite site - Ripoff Report - before starting the very long and intentionally arduous process of completing an application on Alpine Access' website.  There are tutorials, tests, Alpine employee testimonials, simulated customer service calls and an essay to answer.  After spending a total of eight hours or more on the Alpine Access recruiting website, my final result was:  No jobs available.  I think the job postings on various internet websites are probably to drum up media attention or business for Alpine Access, because it certainly is NOT geared toward the typical applicant who doesn't have 8 - 10 hours to spend for tutorials, extensive testing and simulators to get a job.  I guess it is a "plus" for me that they did not "accept" me (or, as was indicated, they did not have a job for me) because I too would have been disappointed to have paid $50 for a credit report, and then waste the first 6 or 7 hours of work (at eight dollars an hour) recooping that cost!  Please don't waste your time with this company (unless you know someone on the inside that can help you get the job!).  The testimonial videos from current employees now seem so feigned and phoney.  They all had very nice offices, and now I am reading that Alpine pays as little as $8 per hour?!  ReallY?  I think it would be less cruel if Alpine simply asked the applicant to take the psychological tests first and then give the results (i.e., "No Jobs Available") instead of forcing people to go through the hoops that they have constructed for their recruiting process.  Now I'm on Ripoff Report giving Alpine an unfavorable review, so how much did Alpine gain by making me spend 8 - 10 hours to complete the recruiting process?  Zero.  I would never recommend them and in fact would not work for the company if they asked me (after reading the reviews of past employees on Ripoff Report's website).  I guess the moral is:  always do your research before getting caught in a snare!

NO JOBS

AUTHOR: Mhusband - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Dear Alpine employee:  I was never an employee of or hired by Alpine.  When I got to the end of the arduous application process, the website said "no jobs available."  If there are no jobs available, why advertise for employees?

You have very substandard grammatical, punctuation and spelling skills.  I guess you and Alpine are a good match!

Read all the Ripoff Report entries and other information on the net about Alpine.  That is where I got my information about the hourly rate, people being fired for no reason, huge turnover in management and other details.  I'm not sure what part of "at the end of the application process (after 8 hours of questions, tutorials, videos and simulated CS calls), the website indicated there were no jobs" that you did not understand?

Good luck with your job, and kudos to Alpine for allowing their CSRs to search the net and attempt to defend the integrity of the company!

Seems that when someone has a bad experience, like not getting hired, they have ALL negative comments to say.
I work for this company and there are reasons we go through the application process. When it's a virtual work program, how else can they screen employs to make sure we are capable, honest employees?? What would be your answer to that?
They are protecting you, and mainly, the clients they do business with. As far as the training, it's the best training program I have ever received on a job. So I do not feel you can say the things you say. You said you were not hired. Half of the things you said are things you wouldnt truly know unless you were hired, so you are going on hear say and gossip, and we all know how reliable that is. As far as Recouping money for 'training', they pay you for training. What you are referring to is a legitimate application process for a virtual customer service position. If you think that this process was so grueling, maybe you are not a hard enough worker, or disiplined enough person for this type of employment.
Maybe they could see something in you that they didnt feel they could trust.
I suggest you dont speak about a company just b/c you're experience wasnt what you wanted.
This is a very good company, and I make alot more than $8/hr. The Team Leads and coaches are always there to help, and to reach out to, and it couldnt be a more perfect work environment.  The best I've ever experienced!! Oh, and that '$50 was actually $43 dollars for a BACKGROUND check, credit check and drug test, if applicable. Again, alot of brick and mortar jobs require that these days. You dont pay for gas, work clothes, lunches out, and THAT, my friend, is how you 'recoup' the money. You do not do the background, credit and drug test unless you are offered and accept the position.
And...I knew NOONE on the 'inside'. I got the job on my qualifications. High School Diploma and common sense.
With your attitude...no worries...they would NOT offer you a positon.
Maybe it's just not the gig for you. Did you consider that??
Anyone thinking about applying at Alpine Access, I had several job offers, I accepted one, and it's been great. Oh, and my pay comes, Direct Deposited, like clockwork! So if you are considering a work from home job, this is Great!!
