A company might have the most innovative product ever developed or offer a unique service that appeals to a worldwide audience, but if that company takes their customers for granted, they'll fail. It's really that simple. We've learned that listening to our customers and acting on their feedback is imperative to any kind of measurable success. Our customers and partners want a dedicated friend and ally in the pet industry and that’s exactly who we try to be.”

Super staff, great follow up.”

The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Bryan Rilenge during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases towards Amazing Pet Expos

Amazing Pet EXPOS produces consumer pet events which are similar to home show’s but for the pet world. They have had 133 shows since 2009, and have hosted over 1.5 million attendees. Bryan Rilenge stated the following about his company, "we produce them in 30+ cities across the United States, and the public is invited to bring their pets and are able to see what pet services and resources are available in their community and also nationally."

Leads for Amazing Pet EXPOS are primarily obtained through online advertising, word of mouth, and referrals. They don't primarily work with consumers but primarily with businesses who sell pet products or offer pet services. Mr. Rilenge explained, "it's more of a contractual relationship where an organization will reserve booth space at the event." The pet related business will pick a city that best fits their needs, "they'll work with our team to pick the booth space and location they like. Then they attend the even and display their services or goods to the consumers and pet lovers that come through."


During the onsite interview Mr. Rilenge was asked to describe as situation where the client was not satisfied with the product or level of service. Mr. Rilenge expressed that the most common complaint they experience comes from vendors who believe there was too much or too little foot traffic in the exhibit. If a vendor feels this way typically Amazing Pet EXPOS will offer them a discounted booth at a different event.

When asked to comment on the complaint posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Rilenge stated the following, "at one time we did have a sales person that we felt was over promising things and you cannot tell a vendor that their guaranteed to make x amount of money that day. There’s no way that you can do that because you have no idea if the attendees really will like their product…so to set an expectation that is unrealistic can cause a problem." In order to remedy this, "we have vice president of sales that’s been here for six years that works daily with our sales team to make sure the booth reservations are done properly so we don’t over promise anything. We also now send out a questionnaire after they have reserved their booth." This questionnaire stated clearly what to expect as a vendor, "we make sure they have a very clear expectation going in."

When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to make things right with the customer per the request of Ripoff Report, Mr. Rilenge expressed, "we’ve increased the training as I’ve mentioned on our booth reservation sales team to make sure their expectations are set properly...we have added follow up questionnaires and emails that clients are in order to get themselves listed on the website. They must read it and fill it out and accept it so we know that they are understanding what’s expected of them, and what’s expected of us because it is business to business."

In order to confirm that the complaints were resolved, Ripoff Report is copied on all responses so we can insure that the member business did right by their customer. When searching for "Sheila Rilenge." Filed by Sara - Longmont, CO. The complaint is false. According to Sara's signed contract with us, she was ineligible for a refund. However, in the interests of good customer service, we agreed to issue her a refund anyway. Sara claims that she contacted us numerous times about her refund, but we had our attorney contact her when we were able to verify via phone records that she'd only contacted us once. We took care of the customer by issuing her the refund, as agreed. It's difficult to say what improvements our company made as a direct result of this complaint because the facts surrounding it are a manipulation of the truth.



As an exhibitor in Amazing ZPet Expos Denver Expo in 2012, I was offered a "discount" for preregistering to be an exhibitor at their 2013 show, which I took them up on. Shortly after the Expo in August of 2012, my company situation changed and I requested a refund of the fees paid- at this time, I had also discovered they went directly into my bank account and withdrew the amount I was promised plus $100- totaling $500. 

Since Oct. of 2012, I have been constantly trying to attain this refund. I have spoken with no fewer than 6 employees, as well as both owner William Rilenge and his wife Sheila. Both assured me they would see to it my discount was issued; Sheila at one point stated in an email and by phone she planned to cut me a check the following morning-this was 3 months ago. I have sent repeated emails, some conversation threads lasting 15 or more communications long, before I no longer receive responses to my inquiries. All start out optomistic, friendly, and determined to help, but wind up not returning emails and passing me along to the voice mailbox of someone who "just left the office" to leave messages that will never be answered. Totally unacceptable treatment of a client who had in good faith thought they would follow through on their promises. 

I suppose $500 is a drop in the bucket to a corporation who owns two successful businesses (that's right, shocker- they also run Ultimate Pet Websites; a company I see several complaints about!) but to a single person small business, $500 is a significant chunk of money. I'm sure they think they are above reproach as most folks probably don't go to the bother of retaining an expensive attorney to get back money at a net loss- hmmm...part of their business strategy?!?

I cannot believe a company with this track record continues to operate, and making a comforable profit, I'm sure! Taking advantage of people with their atrocious business parctices as they go- ideally they would be serving time. But since they are roaming free to do this to others- pay heed- I warn you to not do business with William, his wife, or their employees in any capacity!

Pet Expo Folks made good on agreement

I had originally filed a report against William and Sheila Rilenge, owners of Amazing Pet Expos, last year afetr battling to receive a promised refund for the 2013 show in my area. 

Since that time, I was contacted by an attorney acting on their behalf, and have since received a full refund, in addition to a free booth in this year's event.

William has also since been very apologetic, explaining several different situations that had made getting the refund issed difficult from their end of things. 

Though I wish it had been simpler and more expedient for all of us, I am satisfied with the outcome.
