Amazon Amazon.com, Amazon Prime Amazon Prime promises 2-day shipping, BUT DOESNT KEEP THAT AGREEMENT !!! Internet

When you look at a product in Amazon.com and you are a Prime member there is usually is remark "Order within next Hours:minutes  and we will guarantee delivery by this date" Which is two days away.

The problem is that Amazon does not always ship 2 day service even though it's ordered under the 2 day prime and with the guarantee on the product page. They use Fedex SmartPost from their Charlotte Depot. This is a 2-7 day delivery service (http://www.fedex.com/us/smart-post/outbound.html).

Amazon are misleading their customers.

The Amazon web site says "Amazon Prime is a membership program that gives you and your family unlimited fast shipping, such as FREE Two-Day shipping to street addresses in the contiguous U.S., on all eligible purchases."  " If we don't have it, we'll get it to you two days after it's back in stock".  AMAZON DID NOT FULFILL THIS. This is therefore false and misleading advertising on the part of Amazon. I ordered the item on Wednesday Oct. 31, 2012 and Amazon shipped the item the next day on Thursday Nov.1. Amazon sent me an email on Nov.1 informing me that the item had shipped and would be delivered to me by Tuesday Nov.6. THAT IS NOT 2-DAY SHIPPING, THAT IS 3-DAY SHIPPING. COUNT THE DAYS: It shipped on Thursday Nov.1  so by 2-day shipping it should be delivered on Monday, not Tuesday. Amazon sent it by 3-day, not by 2-day. This was not a case of late delivery, this was deliberate by Amazon since they told me on Nov.1 (the day it shipped) that I would receive it in 3 business days.   I needed this item ASAP for my son's broken leg. AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH AMAZON, THEY DONT FULFILL WHAT THEY ADVERTISE.

If we don't have it, we'll get it to you two days after it's back in stock. Whether the item is immediately ready to ship. When you order: Check the cut-off time shown on the product page. Items are delivered every day but Sunday (see the chart below for details). We'll let you know on the product page and at checkout when your items are expected to arrive.

The 2 day shipping is not promised or guaranteed but we do try to fulfill it as much as possible. I apologize that you weren't happy with the ship time. Hopefully we can meet your expectations next time.

If it is shipping from one of their warehouses affected by the areas hit by the most recent hurricane. Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast. It may take a bit longer to receive, also the mail has been slower since they cannot get to all affected areas still.
