Ameri-Source Publications Ripoff! Billed for unauthorized business listing. Champlain New York

We received a phone call in November 2000 about a business to business listing in the American Business Source Directory for two years for $289.95 plus a complimentary reference guide: AT&T National Toll Free Directory at No Charge. In addition to S/C charges of 73.95 for a total invoice amount of $363.90.

While I did have questions, I did not verbally authorize inclusion in the directory as verbal Purchase Orders are not an acceptable means for placing orders. I have sequentially numbered purchase orders that do NOT match the order number provided on the bogus invoice.

It has been two years since this occurrence and now a collection agency, American Solution Information, is calling for payment. Too bad for them that the whole situation is a fraud. I will fax this report, plus the BBB report (listing over 1,400 complaints) to the collection agency (contact is Pete) to be removed from their call list.
