On April 15th my online bank account had a PENDING draft for $30.90. Suspecting AOL because of the odd numbers and my AOL plan was a cost of $28.90 a month I called AOL Billing and was informed that my billing date was APRIL 19th. I had $16.90 in my bank account to pay an authorized bill for $15.80 on the 17th.

On April 17th AOL drafted my account for $30.90! The $15.80, April 17th authorized bill was paid by the bank along with the UNAUTHORIZED AOL bill for the 17th. This resulted in INSUFFICIENT FUNDS fees of $64.00. AOL then drafted my bank account on April 28th resulting in another INSUFFICIENT FUNDS fee of $32.00. AOL then drafted my bank account on May 5th for $30.90.

I have talked with AOL Billing and different people including a Charles Miller who returned (2) $30.90 payments to my bank account, offered to return $64.00 in FUTURE AOL SERVICES, which I "declined"!

I want the "damages" returned to my account. AOL Billing people "lied" or conviently mis-represented the truth regarding information as it pertains to accounts and billing matters!

Response to the Rebuttal

AUTHOR: Eugene E. - (U.S.A.)

"At keyword billing, you can find out the date of your next charges as well as a comprehensive explanation of what the charges are for. Did your previous payment fail, so that is why you are being double charged? Were you recently asked to update your method of payment? Well, that would be the reason your charges are more than you expected. And what most often happens. The aol employee who refunded fees most likely did so as a goodwill gesture, as being an advocate for the users was a major focus at the call center I used to work at" according to "Trish". Trish, your rebuttal response seems to lack the issues that were filed in my complaint that started the whole issue of "incorrect billing date"! Aol Billng was notified on the 15th and confirmed that my billing date was the 19th. With the 15th being prior to the 17th, Aol Billing people had time to investigate the matter, correct the billing with my bank to the 19th and the whole incident would have never happened. Instead, the Aol Billing person did not want to address the "CONCERNS OF A CUSTOMER"! AOL provides many GREAT FEATURES! AOL addresses many security and safety problems and issues dealing with advanced technology of internet providers, however in this case employee "stonewalling" was placed above my concerns when I called Aol Billing on the 15th and was informed that the correct billing date is the "19th"! If there was a an equipment problem, a communication problem, this incident provided a "means" to resolve future issues with customers who may encounter problems with circumstances I described in my complaint. "The cost to resolve (1) one complaint of a good customer and the avoidance of it happening to other customers is a small price to pay when customer service is what makes money for the AOL business"!

When is your billing date?

AUTHOR: Trish - (U.S.A.)

At keyword billing, you can find out the date of your next charges as well as a comprehensive explanation of what the charges are for. Did your previous payment fail, so that is why you are being double charged? Were you recently asked to update your method of payment? Well, that would be the reason your charges are more than you expected. And what most often happpens. The aol employee who refunded fees most likely did so as a goodwill gesture, as being an advocate for the users was a major focus at the call center I used to work at.

If for no other reason, a person on an unprotected broadband connection should use an internet service whose membership fees include comprehensive virus(not just e-mail) protection for any manner in which downloads are possible. Borrowed software, pictures from aunt sally, hyperlinks, instant messaging, song files, whatever.

So, while you accepted your refund of monies you did owe, and declined any other months without membership fee, I hope you have taken care to protect your personal and financial information by purchasing protection somewhere. Oh, and don't forget the "perverted Justice" shows. Those pedofiles showing up at a house thinking they are going to take a 13 year old's virginity did not meet your child on an AOL kids only chat room.

At AOL,children's chats are monitored 24/7, and if they give out personal info, they are logged off, the info is immediately removed and they don't log on again until mom/dad speaks with AOL. Call them crooks if you wish, but I would never have another internet service.
