I was contacted by phone in February by a very persuasive salls person at American Ad who pretended to be associated with a local apartment complex and offered me a chance to buy in to an advertising campaign they were running to place magnets in each of 500 rentals throughout the complex. He went on to say that many of the residents were upset by the current insurance company and that they were looking for someone local. My office was less than 1 mile away and I thought it made sence. I bought in with the understanding that I would meet with the property manager and introduce myself. I drove to the facility and asked to see the property manager and she had no idea who I was speaking about with regard to the refrigerator magnets or any issues. I contacted the original caller and was told that he would make the introduction and get back to me. I submitted my ad for approval and received a call 2 days later with the proof which I approved. I did not hear from American Ad for a few weeks and called to find out what the delay was. I was told that they were waiting for additional advertisers and would be going to print soon. By the end of March I was curious how things had progressed and was told that it could be as late as May before the magnets were ready. I called in early April and was told that the additional advertisers had been given a deadline to approve their ads and things would go to print at the end of the month. I called in early May and was told that American Ad was still waiting for the additional advertisers and that I could not cancel my ad because their contract says they have 60 days to go to print. I never received a contract and Anna Kelly admitted as much but said I could not cancel since the ad had mysteriously gone to print afterall. On May 3 Anna Klly agreed that American Ad Concepts would refund 30% of the paid price since they had not deliverdd in time and that the refund would take a few days to process. 3 weeks later I had received no refund or magnets as samples as promised. I had been involved in a bunch of personal business and had not followed up. I received 3 magnets with 3 ads around the boarder leaving more unsold space then sold space. The magnets had obviously been rushed to print to try to come in under the 60 day mark. Lo and behold American Ad now tells me that there would be no refund issued even though their manager approved the refund in May. Off to court we go
