We provided our own beer and wine and Kim (the owner) who charged us $250 to hire a bartender, bartended herself. Also, we paid $500 for a DJ, but her husband was the one handling the music.
I feel like she pressured us into hiring the bartender, then just pocketed the money and claimed she didn't really like the bartender they wanted to send, so she did it herself. The funny thing is she told us that she didn't like the bartender they sent, but told the parents that the bartender was double booked. She was obviously lying to one of us.
In addition to that Kim and her husband drank our beer and wine while working, and a guest of ours saw Kim, putting bottles of wine aside like she was saving it for herself later. Kim was also doing shots with our guests. I hired her to work, not get drunk.
One of our guests also told us that Kim made negative remarks about us to them! Complaining that we were difficult because we questioned the way it was set up (the missing tables and linens that we paid for). What professional business talks badly about the hosts of the party to the guests?
We also paid an additional cost of $80 for coffee service. No one offered any to our guests, or made any sort of announcement about it being available. So again, we paid for something we did not get.
While we made the most of the night and didn't let it ruin our wedding, the fact remains that we spent a lot of money on items that we never received, and a company that speaks badly about their clients openly after we chose their establishment to celebrate our special day in. Not to mention that they made a ton of money off us only to steal alcohol from us.
Kim and her husband own the place so there is no way to really leave feedback for them, so I hope that I can save other people money by letting them know DO NOT BOOK YOUR EVENT WITH THEM!

Why the client changed status to disregard

The clients wanted additional hours for their event, not just the standard 4 hour event we offer. They were charged accordingly for additional hours for bar tender that is true. All additional services are an additional cost which clients paid for, But this bride only paid 350.00 (regular cost for a 4 hour event) for dJ and I gave 2 free hours of service for a 6 hour event). If you see our website it shows our dJs and yes one of them is my husband, he does not work for free! I have to pay him for his time.. He is the best at what he does.He is great Dj/emcee and knows music.. you did not pay any additional cost for DJ. As for the bartender there was another bar tendered hired for the event but this was a really nice family and I felt as if the bartender that was hired would not suitable for this event. (I really do not have to explain) That was a business decisions I made . And yes it is my responsibility to do whatever it took to make sure the event went on and if that meant I had to bartend then that is what I do. Yes occasionally I do bartend; I do not work for free either. And By the way this bride only paid 175 .00 for bartender for a 6 hour event. These guest could not have been taken care any better than to have me personally taking care of them? They did not have any complaints! I do not appreciate the speculation about me being drunk nor the speculation of me stealing that is a very mean thing to say especially when I had to read a website about this and the bride did not have the nerve to call or email me about any of this. Part of the job of any bartender is to monitor the consumption of the guest, and if any wine was put up it was because I felt as if it need to be and it did that night! We cut guest off hour before event ends , 1 hour before we start to close down bar, they should know this they both understand and know the food service business. No alcohol was left at my facility it was put in boxes for the father of the bride to take and he did, including any that was not served, so yes a guest may have seen me putting bottles under bar or in boxes or taking bottles to kitchen to chill in our wine chiller but I do not appreciate being called a thief. On this website it states no Rumors, speculation, or innuendo unless you have personal knowledge that your statements are true should be posted, I know this bride did not , so she should not have posted this about me personally or about my business and I will take this up with my lawyer to have this removed.
One more thing about the coffee, it was made and in the kitchen area, an announcement was made. Also I personally serve two elderly ladies at their table. I made the decisions not to put the coffee out in bar area, where it is usually set up. Due to the fact of the kegger that were taking place by the father other of the groom, the groom and his friends, I was afraid they may have an accident if coffee was in this area or anywhere in facility unsupervised due to the drinking taking place .
I really liked this bride, groom and the brides parents, I would not have said anything negative about them, I am always aware when it comes to matters of the heart events like a reception some thing's do and will go wrong but I am a approachable and am willing to discuss anything that is brought to my attention. I am concerned and it really disappointments me that this client did not contact me or come to me first before posting this. Also I am a family owned business and this it what provides for my family, this is my name that has been slandered and it hurts that I was not given a chance to discuss this rationally with bride before the she said so many personal things about my character on this website. What is so funny I was even hugged and thanked at the end of the evening by the people who paid for the event, mother and father of the bride, the groom and yes even the bride?
