I bought thru Home Depot 21 thermal windows from American Craftsman Windows w/ Lifetime warranty dating back to 2004. Since I was remodeling my home a section at a time and because of the high cost I ordered the windows as I needed them over several years. Because of the thermal glass failures, which fog the windows badly, I have had all but a few replaced by American Craftsmen, but only after many, many. attempts, hassles, and costs to me. NOW I have 3 more defective windows and don't know if I'm up to the hassle, long wait and many e-mails and phone calls its going to take to get new windows. What they don"t tell you is the service department charges installation fees on their"lifetime warranty" (somewhere in the fine print I'm sure) The smaller windows are not a problem, they ship them thru Home Depot and I pick them up and install them myself after several months of hassles and delays. The 5 ft. picture windows almost have to be replaced by their service department at "my" cost ( 4 times @ $150.00 per unit) because of their size and weight. I now have a picture window that has failed again! I have already e-mailed (several months ago) about two failed windows{with the proper build number off the paper tag on the window). NO RESPONSE AS USUAL! Now I have to try and get the thermal window replaced also. Home Depot is no help! I have tried to speak to them and they only refer me to American Craftsman For warranty service. It's like throwing someone to the wolves! Shame on you Home Depot.....It's your duty to your customer to keep your suppliers under control. I have bought thousands of dollars of merchandise from you as a contractor and homeowner., maybe Lowes is the answer from now on!
