American Credit and Collections I received a letter in the mail for collection of $13,301.97 from Citi Internet

I received a collection in the mail on 1/30/12 for $13,301.97 from ACC. My first inclination was to avoid it but I called anyhow, asked for Jimmy Evans, was transferred, and put into voice mail. I did not leave a message because I didn't want to leave my phone#. It's obvioulsy a bogus claim. My credit is close to perfect, no derogatories, mid 700 scores, 4 tradelines and I check it 4 times per year. I have also kept my credit reports for the past 5 years. Since I work for a financial institution I can order them for free. I am very expereinced with credit because part of my job is advising clients on theirs.

I'm thinking of doing nothing for a month and waiting for another letter. I will then start sending certifed letters quoting the law and I live in NY. If it appears on my credit report I will nail them with a huge lawsuit. I am looking forward to this
