These people called on my brothers phone which is a 540 area code. My are code is 804. They said I owed $1400 to HSBC (my credit card company) and I was being taken to court for fraud and my assets would be frozen. They also said they were a collection co. and could settle this before I went to court. The fact they called my brothers phone and not mine made me very suspicious. If they were representing my credit card company why didn't they have my phone number. They did have the last four of my social security number. I hope they don't have the whole thing. I called the CC. co. and I'm getting another card, that number is defunct. I change my passwords at least once a month sometimes I change them every week or two. The name of the company is American Document Service (they claim). I searched the co. online and it came up as a file shredding service not a collection agency. I don't know what I can do or if they have done anything to my credit. I'm checking all my cc. accounts and I'm changing all my passwords. The phone number that was on caller ID and the one they gave for me to return their call is 304 400 6117. Be very careful when people call you don't give any info to anyone. If you get an email from someone claiming to represent someone you have an account with or do business with, DO NOT click on the link. Always put the web address in manually. If you think something is fake it probably is if you're not sure or if it seems to good to be sure it probably is. The best thing to do is call your company. I hope these people get caught. Thank you
