I purchased the Bluebird Card roughly three months ago at Walmart located in West Branch Michigan. I put an initial load on the card at the time of purchase. I received my card in the mail and went to their website to activate. Everything seemed fine until I attempted to reload my card. It would not load. It would spit out a message concerning the authorization at the register. I contacted Bluebird and after 20 minutes of being on hold was informed there was nothing wrong with my card, they had no reason why it would NOT load at the register at Walmart and suggested instead I set up direct deposit. Why I would try this and risk NOT having access to my funds is beyond me. After 8 more unsuccessful attempts at reloading my card at both registers and the service counter at two different Walmarts (which is one of the selling points of the card) I decided to try a different approach.

A little over a month ago I called for a replacement card after 30 minutes on hold I was connected with a woman who processed my request and was told I would receive my replacement card within 10 days at the most. I still HAVE NOT received my card. I called today, March 8, 2013 and after another 30 minutes was told the "system" would not let the man process my request and I would be contacted in 3-5 days over the phone concerning the matter! 

The whole thing is quite frankly a joke. The people working in customer service have NO clue what they're doing. I was put on hold 4 different times today so the gentleman could check with someone else about what to do. In 3 months after the initial funds were used my card was useless! So I am left with NO card, NO service, NO answers!                                                                                                                            

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE TO ANYONE!
