American Family Insurance is a scam.  It's a scam for agents and it's an unethical company when it comes to its insureds.  I was an agent for 3 years.  The company puts pressure on agents to sell life insurance, if you don't sell enough they will find a way to get rid of you.  They put pressure on you to not write policies on certain ethnic groups.  "AMERICAN INSURANCE"  my #%$ !  Like any insurance company it is in business to make a profit. 

Not much is off the table when it comes to how they will get to that end.  When I started with the company there were 16 new agents, after 3 years all but 3 had been terminated for one reason or another.  This meant that the books of business that the agent and produced was turned over to a new agent at nearly half of the original commission,....can the original agent so you can have a new agent just service the business. .....  The new agent had to service the business for more than a year to even get paid at all.  1 year was free.  Thanks Amscam! 

After 3 years of dedicated work this &$^% company came into my office and took a few select files and discovered I'd made some mistakes.  Mistakes which cost the company about $150.00.  They came in after I called the corporate office and asked for help because I was overwhelmed with too much work to handle.  They had 3 reasons to let me go, no help, no here's how to avoid this in the future... just... so long!

After they let me go they went through my files and worked out a plan to discontinue servicing hundreds of policies I'd written for software engineers from India.  They felt they were a poor risk so they decided to get rid of them.  By the way, they were a good risk, well educated, earned a good living and liked saving a few bucks.  One happy customer told all there friends, of which they had many.  My book of business was very profitable, but I guess getting rid of me made it even more profitable. 

My advice...leave this company behind.  Don't trust them, don't believe them, don't give them any money.
