These people call and claim to represent Mastercard and Visa to reduce your credit card interest rates. They use the recent Congressional hearings as the reason they are reducing the rates. They claim to be helping jump start the economy. Their fast talking people on the phone are taking advantage of the hearings to lend truth to their calls. They spend time getting your interest rates and saying they can reduct them to 6.9% or lower than your current rates. They stress how much you can save by doing this, also switching to another person on the line who is supposed to be helping make this sound legitimate. Then when fast talking all this they slip in the fact that they will be taking $695.00 for a processing fee. If you catch this and ask them about it, they will stress how they take it from interest you have already paid. When I asked why I shouldn't just go direct to my Mastercard or Visa company they passed me on to another person who says they can't tell me not to but thru them (AFDSS) I will get a reduced rate for the life of the account on any and all credit cards, even Sears and others. After I finally got these folks off the phone I called my Mastercard account and they said these people DO NOT represent them, cannot lower rates and that they had 3 other complaints on them the same day. They are fast talking ripoff artists who just want your $695.00 and with the other info you would be required to give them they could access your credit card accounts and charge. Beware and just hang up on these people.
