American Freight Of Ohio Bait and switch-failure to produce what I paid for. No total refund available. Akron, Ohio

In Feb. I went into the American Freight here and saw some a couch and chair in a certain color that I liked.  There were signs posted that said free layaway and after the merchandise was 75% paid the store guaranteed they would have your particular merchandise.  I explained to the clerk I actually lived in Texas and woukd be picking the furniture up in 3 or 4 months to take it there.  I paid $200.00 or $100.00 a month on this furniture every month in person and had a conversation regarding the furniture with the person that took my payment each time.  The furniture was 3/4 paid for in Sept.  At no time did anyone say the furniture I was paying for was not available until I went in on Nov. 23rd to make a pym't and tell them I was picking it up on Dec.15th.  Then the clerk tells me they don't have it and won't be able to get the couch and chair in that color, but I can have a brown couch and a black chair(the chair is not the same chair).

Because the clerk said it would be after the first of the year before they would be able to get the correct style of chair, I settle for a totally different chair from the floor. According to the clerk and manager, the only way I can guarantee this furniture will be there on the 15th is pay the last $100.00 owed on the original furniture.  I pay it.  Today I went into the store just to make sure all my arrangements were made.  They tell me they do not have the chair but it is not their fault it was pulled by corporate.

I tell them just ot give me qa full refund I have had enough.  Not surprisely at this point, they tell me they can only refund me money for the chair because they don't have any like ones in stock but the couch and other futon is a done deal.  Even though the couch is not the color I wanted.   I asked for a corp. #.  They claimed they did not have one but eventually me one.  I called. The guy said he was not with the company but when you call back and it goes to vm he address himself with the co. name.  I looked on line and could not find a corporate office.

As it stands, I have to pick up a couch I do not even want tomorrow or lose over $800.00.  This company should be put out of business.
