Well here is my story: I went to American Freight to get all new stuff for my house. I just added on my bedroom and new bath to my house, so I went shopping for new stuff. I wish to God I had seen this ripoff report sooner about them. I got me a whole new bedroom suit and king size Simmons Beauty Rest mattresses. I got new living room suit. Oh btw I paid over $7,000.00 for all this stuff.
Well to start with while I was there I found out the Armoire I bought wasn't even in stock so I told them to forget it and just put my money back on my card that I really didn't need it. And also about the mattress that I got, before I left store after the salesman Derek Jeters told me my Simmons Beauty Rest was the best and it was $1500.00 so I thougth, you know more money, better quality bull crap not true. He told me no about the refund all sells final!! So I told him that I haven't even left the store. He said it would be in that Friday and would deliver it to me. So I said ok. So I got everything else the day I paid for it.
(I suggest anyone that gets something from there you open the box up and check to make sure all your stuff is ok and not broken.) When I got home and took it and put my new bedroom suit in my new bedroom to find out the Mirror, 1 of the night stands and now the other nightstand is peeling the wood off of it, and my king size headboard are broken. I called immediately the next day to tell them those items was broken. He (Derek) told me that they would bring out new ones to replace those that Friday when they brought the Armoire to me so I said ok.
Well Friday came around and heard nothing so I called. They said it didn't come on that truck and they only had the night stand and mirror in stock but they could get my headboard from another one. Well I waited again. 2 weeks went by still no truck come in with my stuff on it. Waited again, still not a one phone call yet from them so 2 weeks later I called again. They told me that they still didn't get it on the truck. Well after 5 weeks, I finally went up there and talked to John. But in the meantime, after a few days of having the bed the mattress started sinking in on one of the sides. So I called him about that too and told me when someone came out here to bring other things they would look at it. So I was like ok about that too. but after 5 weeks, talked to John and got his District/ Corporate # so he game me the number to some guy named Jay (i think) and he was making excuses for the other employees and managers and didnt' really care, acting like I was making it up about them. I told John I wanted the money back on the Armoire so finally after 2 hours of being there at A F he put my money back on my debit card.
John sent finally someone out here with the mirror and the other nightstand, but no headboard and they checked out the bed. some young boy come out here look at the bed and said definetly something was wrong with it so he called John to tell him, I heard him tell him it wasn't right how it was staying in and not coming back up. So he told me to bring it up there and they would exchange it with no problem. Well 2 days later I found someone to take me up there with the mattress. I got there and John wasn't there but some guy Jeff was, which supposed to been on manager duty. He wanted me to exchange it for something else cause they didnt' have anymore. I told him no I wanted this kind and if they didn't have it I wanted my money back. At first he acted like he could go it. then he called John and he told him no and he would be there in a minute. So John comes in and said they was a spot on the mattress so he coudn't exchange it til the spot has gotten rid of. Well I had no way of hauling it back to my house so I left it there. John left before I even left very unprofessional all of them. Then one of there employees came up to Jeff and said dang they some b****es aren't they? well my best friend looked at him and he grinned. so she said are you talking about us and he said no that he was talking about a customer ealrier.
Well the mattress got sent back to me with me paying delivery charge of $25 for them to bring it. And when I got it back they had dirt all over it, chips of wood on bottom where they pushed it on ground instead of picking it up when carrying it. and a hole in the bottom of the king size mattresss. I took it over there in 100% shape got it back in about 35% if that. They never exchanged it! so now i have a dirty, holey, $1500 mattress and a $2500 broken bedroom suite....... which is crappy!
Well I called him about the mattress when I got it back and he told me that maybe the people who brought it to me did it. So he supposed to check on it and call me back and let me know something... so over all time dealing with this crap has been over 2 1/2 months now. They supposed to bring me headboard when it comes in but still hasn't came in been like 8-10 weeks.
NO ONE NEEDS TO GO THERE AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE MY MONEY BACK FOR THIS CRAP AND GO GET MORE, BETTER QUALITY NOT FROM THERE THOUGH. I HOPE EVERYONE READS THIS AND DOES NOT GO THERE.!!!!!
Still waiting with a broken head board and a $1500 mattress broken in my dining room standing up....
