This is the worst experience of my life.
Stress, lack of sleep, extreme anger, are some of the things come to mind when I think of loan number 1001333472.
In June of 2006, led by trust and deception, we (my sister) decided to buy a property that was going to be a home for my mother and myself. By the first payment I discover what a giant mistake we have had committed. The nightmares with American Home Mortgage began with that first payment.
I have never had a fight with anyone in my life over the phone or personally than with that supervisor that refused to apply my money to the option # 3(interest and principal), instead to the option # 1( minimum interest ) they had already apply to the loan. I would have to say his job probably depended on it. Ever since, on the hundreds of calls I have made to AHMS, the attitude of almost everyone was the same. I believe this people were train to be rude and to get the more money out of you.
We paid over $26,000 only in interest in 2007 to AHMS, I don't know to this day the principal if any. We request history payments, and they never come. We are lied to, they hang up on us, they never call back, and did I say they are rude!
By September of 2007 I told my sister we were being used and abused and we had to do something. In November she requested a loan modification because I have decided to the option of foreclosure than to be bankrupted by this loan. I continued on her behave to battle the customer service and the loss mitigation people every single day. I was sending the money via cashier checks and via Federal Express and always requesting the option 3 in the check because I did not trust how they would apply the payments.
We are already at the end of April 2008 and waiting for the final paper work from the Loan Modification Department we started back in November with Martin Frame. Then we found out that Martin no longer work for the company and no one knows about the modification of our loan. After another flood of phone calls and discussions with customer service and loan mitigation personnel I finally get to talk to supervisor Reggie Mitcherson. I explained to Mr. Mitcherson the entire situation and he promised to call next day. I am still waiting for his phone call. My sister spoke to him and he told her the deal was off and that no modification would take place in our loan because of a missing payment, which is a lie from Mr. Mitcherson, because we made our 3 payments as agreed in the paper work we did Mr. Frame.
So, we are in June 2008, we don't know what's going on and no one wants to cooperate. We decided to send a complain to whatever agency regulate this people because of their financial abuse. In the mean time the want us to keep sending payments to the option 1 which is minimum interest and we had to do it to avoid foreclosure.
Now we are again working with another supervisor, Reno Walker, who all of the sudden discover that, yes, we had made the payments correctly. By the way, Mr. Mitcherson never wanted to provide his email address...I think he said he didn't have one. Here is Mr. Walker information.

We are still waiting for the payment history. We want to know how are payments were applied to the loan. We are also having contact with Mr. Walker and we still don't know how much money we need to send and the monster loan keeps getting bigger.
