I made the initial air condition service request on May 2 2014 and was given an appointment time of May 7 2014 for a four hour block. I took a half day off work to meet the technician that never showed. Later that day, I received a phone call saying he was running late and rescheduled the appointment for May 9 2014. I once again took off work and the technician did not show, again. I contacted AHS to request to cancel my contract due to the missed appointments and I just wanted to get my A/C fixed. I was willing to pay someone else after seeing my children sweating through the night. She apologized and waived my $100 deductable fee, and I reluctantly did not cancel at that time. Later that day, the technician called me and said he would be over first thing in the morning May 10 2014.
He did show up that afternoon and I assumed that my A/C would be repaired that day. This was not the case; he found the leak and explained to me he has to get approval from AHS to start work. It was also told to me that AHS will not pay for Freon and the total will be around $400. I was told AHS or repair company would call me to make my repair appointment. After waiting a few days I finally had to contact them and it was scheduled for May 23rd 2014. The technician did try to call me to confirm I was home. I missed the call but returned 17 minutes after it was missed. The tech said that policy is if I don’t return the call within 15 minutes he goes to the next call. He explained that his company would contact me to reschedule an appointment on Tuesday. This was my fault and I understood but Tuesday came and went.
I once again contacted AHS and explained the situation and asked if I just pay someone else to fix it. The reprehensive told me that this would void the contract. I finally just contacted the company again and made ANOTHER appointment for June 32014, keep in mind it is MAY-JUN in Florida and it now has been over a month without A/C for my family. The company called me the next day to tell me that they needed change my appointment to June 4 2014. Well today is June 4 2014 and my wife got a voice message this morning saying the technician is not going to make it. Whenever he does make it he will go through these steps:
1) Try to repair on site
2) Try to repair at workshop
3) Reorder part
4) Make another appointment once part comes in
I have changed family trips, missed soccer games, and canceled hosting an Army friend’s retirement party due to this issue. I tried to put this review on the site AHS recommend to me when I was shopping for a warranty (homewarrantyreviews.com) and it will not upload, I honestly think they control it. I’ve never written a negative review on anything or took the time to contact the BBB, but this company has me sitting at home (sweating) a lot so I have the time.
