Back in February 2008, I won a certificate to get 300 dollars off a treatment of my choice, well I decided that I would like laser hair removal for my chin. They made it seem that the treatment always works and that they give a two year guarantee. They told me that the only thing I needed to do was fill out a form for CareCredit, which I did and got 1000 dollars for the treatment.
As I went to my scheduled appointments for the past two years and I did not see any reduction on my chin, they even put it on the highest setting (which hurt a lot) and there still was no results. I talked to the manager at that time and she told me that I would have to do 8 more treatments to qualify for the 2 year guarantee and then after the 8 treatments she kept on boosting it up.
After she got fired, I talked to the new manager and she was more understanding and put my request in. That was when the real trouble began.
In the beginning of 2010 until the present day, I had major difficulties contacting them either via email or phone. I called constantly at the local American Laser Center, sent emails through the website and the only thing I got was an email stating that there will be a general manager calling me within the next 48 hours (4/29/10).
Almost three weeks later and sending two more emails with no phone calls from the general manager. Within the last email I stated that I was going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, if no action was taken. Days gone by and still no response so I filed a complaint with the BBB.
Weeks later Karen from ALC contacted me and told me that I would have to go into the local center and get pictures done of 5 day hair growth, so I did them one better and went in with 7 day hair growth (6/2). Almost two weeks have gone by and a email from me later, Karen finally called (during this time I got a email stating that the ALC near me was closing down and going to Rochester).
Karen told me that my request for my refund was denied and that they were offering me a chance of getting another procedure done. I told them no that Rochester is way out of the way for me and that their policy has a two year guarantee that they violated.
In the end they denied me what was rightfully mine and closed my account without even a sorry. I do not know what to do now, I am now in debt because of them and now I have to shave my chin on a dailies basis.
