Several years ago I had the misfortune of receiving a telephone call from an individual identifying himself as Mr. Kit Menkin. He felt he had the authority to act as mediator between my company and a problem client. I told him he was not part of either the problem or the solution and hung up the telephone. A few days later I received a call, from a friend in the business, stating my employer had been placed on the Leasing News "Bulletin Board". I read his article and it was completely false. Soon after, I talked with several other people in the leaing business, and they suggested it would be a waste of time to reply. They also stated this was Mr Menkin's way to obtain business for his brokerage company "American Leasing". To date, Mr Menkin continues to publish the same trash, and his goal is to regulate ther industry - for a fee, of course. Today, Leasing News is equivalent to "World Wide News" to people in the leasing industry - just a bunch of gossip by a guy who has too much time on his hands.

Kit Menkin does not print the whole truth. He edits partial truths, and adds his own bias opionion to collect fee income, and discredit other powerful players in the industry, so he may forward transactions to his advisers and recieves a kickback in return. Mr. Menkin refuses to retrack stories, even after the companies, or individuals he maligns are declared innocent in the court of law. He is the typical definition of a blowhard that lacks intelligence or facts. His articles do provide humor because they are so outlandish and out of touch. You actully feel sorry for Mr. Menkin once you realize he'll never be able to follow in his footsteps. Pray for the man.

For over ten years Leasing News has acted as an ombudsman, having over $10 million in advance rentals returned, as well as helping to resolve $1.00 purchase options and "Evergreen Lease" clauses, to name the major complaints. Most are
a few thousand dollars, but there have been complaints in the $50,000 range, too (not counting residual issues).
If the complaint is not resolved, it is then posted as a Leasing News Bulletin Board complaint with readers to determine who is right and who is wrong. The complaint also appears in a news edition as well as appears in our "Top Stories" section for a specific time.

As to this posting, I have no idea what it is about. I am sure there are many who do not like Leasing News as we have
either be instrumental in having them return money they were not entitled to or reported on their activity and named names.
We have been editorializing about "Evergreen" and Winter green" clause lack of notification and the means where leasing companies bully a lessee into this position, or continue to bill payments, even after the initial contract term is over.
