My family & I went with American Power Vac company to get our ducts cleaned. I just had a baby, and my mom has Lupus, so we figured it would be a good idea to get our ducts cleaned since we haven't gotten them cleaned in over ten years. Not only did Andy & Justin arrive two hours late, which is nothing compared to everything else that went wrong, they absolutely destroyed our home. Nothing was wrong with the air in our house prior to them coming out here to clean the ducts. Now, our house is filled with dust and who knows what else. We called the company and they offered to come back out. Justin returned and stated that Andy had "forgotten" to do something when he was here last time. After they cleaned our ducts a second time, there was no change in the smell of dust in our house. You can actually see the dust particles flying around our house in the light. It didn't make a bit of difference. They have no idea what they are doing. Also, mind you, they were only here for an hour when they cleaned our ducts the first time. That right there should of been a red flag considering we have three floors in our home. We also changed our furnace filter out shortly after getting our ducts cleaned, and found a tennis ball in the furnace. They obviously didn't check and clean everything out before they left. They never laid down mats or anything under any of their equipment, and left trails of white debris all over our carpeting. When they left we were literally pulling out bugs and rocks out of our registers; they never even vacuumed the excess debris when they were done. To think that things couldn't get any worse, nmy family and I are now suffering from horrible allergies and breathing problems. I actually had to take my daughter into the emergency room because her eye swelled up so badly from whatever is NOW floating around our house. I have been getting horrible chest pain, and my mom is having throat and allergy issues now as well. In addition to all of our health problems we smell DUST! To top everything off, Sarah who always answers the phone for the company, lied to my mom and told us that they were NADCA certified. Obviously they are not, and we can see why!!! When I confronted her about it she apologized for lying and said "oh, sorry you are having problems." I told her we were filing a complaint and she just said, "ok." Gee, how nonchalant of a response, they must be used to getting complaints. Now we did our research and are getting our ducts re-cleaned the right way, and we are going with Amistee. Do not go with American Power Vac if you are looking to get your ducts cleaned. I would of never dreamed this nightmare to of happened to my family and I, and I would never want anything like this to ever happen to you. They are very good liars, scammers, and truly heartless people. You can always get ripped off money wise, but going with American Power Vac will cost you your health!!!! I am the third complaint of this company on this website alone. Do your research. http://www.nadca.com/ Go with a professional who cares about the air you are breathing!!!!!

Had I spoken with Keith, the owner of American Power Vac to begin with, I would of never filed this complaint. He did everything in his power to resolve my complaint to my complete satisfaction. He handled the situation with a great deal of professionalism. He was very passionate and sympathetic in regards to the situation. You can tell he truly cares about his customers. He is taking steps to make sure this never happens again. He has resolved this issue.
