We engaged American Van Lines after an Internet search of interstate moving companies. American Van Lines changed the cost three times. Every time they called the cost went up. We ended up paying 50% more than the original cost although the weight and number of items did not change. They found All Distance Movers as a subcontractor to do the actual move. For the pickup, they arrived so late the family was already asleep. This was after multiple attempts to reach either firm. The promised delivery date came and went without any communication from either. It was about one month that we lived without our possessions. They took our things from through several states the long way around. We received items which did not belong to us. One item of ours was damaged. Both companies promised refunds. None came.

Acccording to all of us experienced AVL customers, the ONLY stress-free experience we had with AVL was PRIOR to signing the contract!
