After having health problems and my wife losing her factory job to China we weren't able to make our monthly mortgage payment. We hired a firm to help us get a loan modification(HAMP). We finally got it 5 months later. The plan states you make 3 trial payments on time to make sure that you can handle the loan. After you succeed you receive a permanent loan modification with a lower rate of interest and lower monthly payments. I had a Loan Preservation Specialist by the name of Angela Allen. She would call me to make sure things were going ok. When she would call I would tell her when I would make my next trial payment. I made all 3 trial payments ahead of the due date. May paymentmade on Apr.9, 2012. June Payment on May 2,2012 and July payment paid on June1,2012. When I made my July payment Angela asked me when I was able to pay the 1st permanent loan mod payment I told her I would pay the August payment on July6,2012. She said she would call me on the 6th of July to get my payment. On June 29th she called me and stated she wouldn't be working on the 6th of July and wanted to know when I would want to make my Aug. payment. I paid her my Aug. payment on that day June 29,2012.I got a notice In August that my payment was past due. I contacted Angela and she stated that she would take care of it that it was a mistake. I was charged a late charge. I talked with her about a week ago and she said they made it 4 trial payments instead of 3. She lied to cover up the theft or the screw up. I have all of the paperwork and it states in black and white that there was to be 3 trial payments. I wouldn't advise anyone to do business with either America's Servicing or Wells Fargo. They are nothing but thieves and liars. Today I had to stop payment on a check I mailed them because it supposedly was lost.
