A few months ago, I received a bill stating that I owe them $114.96/month just to have the propane tank on my property. I'd never received any paperwork stating that they could do this, and it wasn't on my contract all those years ago. No problem, I called and asked that they remove the tanks and close out my account. That was early last billing period, it's now been 5 weeks and they still haven't even bothered to follow up, let alone remove the bottles. Needless to say, I have another rental bill because they're dragging their feet. Let alone the obscene tank removal and propane recovery costs.
Seriously, $120 to recover the propane I already paid for that they can then just sell to the next customer down the road? And then $100 to load up the tanks and close out my account on top of that? As if they haven't made enough money on me over the years.
Needless to say, I'll likely be taking them to court for this. If you're thinking of going through Amerigas for your propane needs, look for a better alternative.
