OK I THOUGHT THAT ADAM GETTING WHACKED WAS THE FUNNIEST THING, BUT REPLACING HIM WITH FRANK CORTINAS IS EVEN FUNNIER..IT IS HILARIOUS.

IT GOES TO SHOW YOU AMERIQUEST HAS NO INTENTION OF CORRECTING THE "PROBLEM ie fraud" THEY ARE JUST COVERING IT UP WITH ANOTHER GREASE BALL.

From BAD to WORSE; every one at ameriquet (assuming you've been there more than a few months.) Knows exactly what is going on. ALTHOUGH NOT ALL OF US PRACTICE THESE TACTICS TO BOOK LOANS. I even reported Frank Cortinas for Fraud, sexual harrassment, and drug use w/ my AEs..I know Adam, and I know Frank Very Well. I would not compromise myself to fatten his wallet (since that is where his self esteem is derived from." I reported it to HR, and asked for a transfer as I had worked under this tyrant for over a year...I was tired of his threats, and constantly asking me to do the wrong thing, and upon my refusal to do so, he would encourage me to call "my peers" his boys he brought out from Florida who were the other managers in our area, to see how they run things in their branches.

I TOOK MY OFFICE TO #1 IN THE COMPANY. by playing by the rules, but once the fraud caught on like wild fire in his area, and in california...and the east coast. and midwest...hell all over the country. It made it impossible to compete, by booking loans the right way. I was fed up and reported him, and transfered, and HR was constantly harrassing me every day in my new office, and within 2 weeks of me reporting Frank, I was demoted to an AE, after managing for 3 yrs, and two months prior, my regional had offered me a promotion, which i did not accept, due to family issues at hand.

so in JUNE i was given a promotion, which i declined due to my mother's health (cancer at 57 yrs old) and in JULY my mother passed away, i came back to work 2 days after her burial, because my branch needed my help because, Frank was in the Bahamas, and was not available to step in for me while i was out for my mothers funeral, and then in AUGUST I report him, and I transfered. I reported him on August 17th, August 18th I was transfered, and SEPTEMBER 3rd I was demoted to an AE, because of referrals i would occasionaly get from my husband, which frank knew about and approved.......and HR insisted on calling these referals LEADS, and I was demoted because it was a policy violation to receive Leads?? LEADS are paid for ..purchased, or fee is paid out. My husband would simply refer customers he could not help out with a loan over to my AEs. He could not help them, because he works in the "A PAPER" world. So how is that a LEAD? FRANK TOLD ME IT WAS FINE TO CALL, AND ENCOURAGED IT HE WOULD ASK MY HUSBAND FOR BUSINESS HIMSELF.

SO HOW IS THAT A LEAD?? SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME BECAUSE THE Knuckle Head in HR could not tell me the difference, and she was an HR MGR?? I asked 4 times in our coversation what then is the difference between a lead and a referal? each time the answer was, and I quote "If you as a branch mgr do not know the difference between a LEAD and a REFERAL then we have a SERIOUS problem." so that was my answer when I wanted her to explain to me the difference between the referals we received from my husband once in a while, and so did the honolulu office too...and a LEAD???

Not once did they ask me any specifics of my allegations towards Frank...the only problem HR could find in those 2 weeks...was that my husband sent the company business he could not do at his work!!! So I was demoted just because I ratted out the TOP DOG on the west coast...and HR, and MY regional wanted to shut me up as fast as they could.

A REFERAL vs A LEAD After close to 5 yrs of working my butt off for this company, after being offered 4 promotions in total, being a top producing AE and a top producing branch.. I was demoted over a matter of semantics. Referals which HR insisted upon calling Leads, (which i had received approval from my boss Frank to call on...that they were not LEADS. but referals...he told me make sure my AEs check them in the DO NOT CALL list before attempting to reach the prospective customer.)

AMERIQUEST HAS DONE SO MUCH DAMAGE TO ME PSYCHOLOCIGALY, I WILL NEVER FULLY RECOVER. ALL OF THE STRESS AND HARRASSMENT, AND FEELING I HAD PUT SO MUCH INTO A COMPANY THAT TOOK A DUMP ON ME FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING....ON TOP OF JUST LOSING MY MOM....I SNAPED...EARLY MORNING SEPTEMBER 4TH around 4:00 am I was admitted to ER at St Joseph's hospital in Orange..for attempted suicide. I was in the "behavioral health" unit for a long time, so i would not hurt myself. I still can't understand all of this, and I am still under heavy supervision, and in therapy.

THANKS AMERIQUEST!! THANKS ALICIA STEELE, LACHELLE, MIKE, FRANK.....BECAUSE OF YOUR LIES AND ATTEMPTS TO C.Y.A.
I ALMOST LOST MY LIFE, AND I HAVE BEEN IN MAJOR DEPRESSION EVER SINCE...I CAN'T EAT, I CAN'T SLEEP, I HAVE THOUGHTS OF HURTING MYSELF, I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT, I HAVE NO SHORT TERM MEMORY, I HAVE NO DESIRE TO LEAVE THE HOUSE OR TALK WITH ANYONE, NO INTEREST IN ANYTHING. SOMETIMES NOT EVEN AN INTEREST IN MY LIFE. I HAVE LOST 30lbs.....I AM DEFFICIENT IN EVERY VITAMIN, MINERAL, AND AMINO ACID...I TAKE 8 DIFFERENT MEDICATIONS A DAY...WHICH HAVE INTERESTING SIDE EFFECTS.....SO IN A SENSE AMERIQUEST DID TAKE MY LIFE FROM ME.....I AM PHYSICALLY STILL HERE, BUT I AM NOT A FUNCTIONING PERSON...I HAD A MENTAL BREAKDOWN.

GLAD TO KNOW "I AM MORE THAN JUST AN EMPLOYEE." WHAT A BUNCH OF HORSE SH*T THAT IS.

From the sales force (AEs), Managers, Area Mgrs. Regional Mgrs, and The "V.P." of sales (whatever that is?) but Mary Jo makes the company look like they appreciate women too. (b.s.) to Wayne Lee the President over this mess we call Ameriquest....to the owner of the entire mess including all other comanies under Ameriquest Capital Corp. Roland Arnall, who is the 103rd richest man in America, and contributes heavily to both republican and democrat parties.

From the looks on the surface, Ameriquest to the consumer looks like it is the next happiest place on earth next to Disneyland. Their commercials, sponserships, donations, and even their lame blimp.

But on the inside it is a nightmare, it is a sweatshop for loans. A web of Fraud through out the country. All you customers out there who thought no one could help you...no one could give a loan, but ameriquest was able to. ?????? doesn't that make you wonder how they did it? THEY DOCTORED UP YOUR PAPERS, and you got a loan.

What a MESS AMERIQUEST HAS BECOME!!!!

oh yeah...

ps: Minnie ME Cortinas...congratulations on your BIG promotion, at least it will get you out of California... and in my eyes the timing seems very very peculiar.

ONE MORE THING FRANK Tell your CHICK to STOP CALLING MY CELL PHONE!!! Why does she even have my #?? VERY ODD!! Oh and did you hear LESLIE QUIT AND MOVED BACK TO OKLAHOMA...odd timing there too...I guess you finally figured out dating one of your processors, was not good for your career.

Good luck as a regional...hopefuly you wont be such a dumbass this time...oh is Alicia still your HR rep, or are you going to have to put some one new on "your payroll?"

Hello
Received the settlement amount for the class action suit in Ohio. Oh boy........$484.00
could be more, but that is the minimum amount for the damages. It makes me sick. Does anyone know of an attorney in Ohio that is willing to take on these cases instead of participating in the class action suit?
I've had HUD look at my mortgage agreement. They charged me 13% on closing fees. It's over the legal limit. HUD suggested finding a private attorney. Can't find one that handles mortgage fraud. Live in Trumbull County. Thanks for any suggestions! Shell

Just curious...what did the lawyers/law firms make for this case?

Find that out and you may be shocked. Class actions exist to enrich attorneys, NOT to make injured parties whole. IMHO, they are a supremely bad idea concocted by the system to enrich itself.

Arkygirl:

As usual you are spot on. I have been trying to find an exception to this rule but so far I haven't found a single case. It's simply amazing... it's next to impossible to find an attorney that is willing and able to take on these scumbag thieves other than on a class basis.

It's beyond insane... The average class member may have been defrauded out of tens of thousands of dollars or even more and then, only receive a few hundred dollars as a settlement. Where's the value in that relationship? They could have received a more equable judgment simply going to their local small claims court with no attorney.

Join a class action to obtain less, wait longer, lose your rights, and let the thieves go free with a clean record just so that they may start the whole scam over again?

Hmmm... What a great system we have going here.

But that's my opinion.

Lawsuit targeting Ameriquest adds Arnall to its sights. LOL

Lawsuit targeting Ameriquest adds Arnall to its sights

Lawyers have asked to add Roland Arnall as a defendant, saying he had a hand in abuses at the sub-prime lender.

By E. Scott Reckard, Times Staff Writer
June 19, 2007

Ameriquest Mortgage Co. founder Roland Arnall seemed to have shrugged off complaints of lending abuses early last year, when the sub-prime lender agreed to pay $325 million to settle allegations by 49 states of misrepresented loan terms, hidden fees, puffed-up appraisals and fabricated borrower income statements.

The Los Angeles billionaire blamed rogue employees for the problems. Consumer activists said a promised overhaul of operations at the Orange-based company would set high standards for the sub-prime industry, which caters to borrowers with poor credit, heavy debts or no money for down payments.

Arnall, whose confirmation as U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands had been held up because of the litigation, won the Senate's endorsement for the diplomatic post soon after the settlement was reached.

But on Monday, Arnall's accountability was again front and center as attorneys for Ameriquest customers asked a judge to add him as a defendant in a private lawsuit.

In a request filed in federal court in Chicago, lawyers for the borrowers, who are seeking to combine 20 suits into one class action, contend that Arnall made decisions that resulted in abuses, blocked attempts to reform Ameriquest and drained it of its profit before virtually shutting it down as the sub-prime industry imploded.

Ameriquest and its affiliates "were the alter ego" of Arnall, the suit says. "Assets of the Ameriquest entities were transferred to Arnall with the actual intent to hinder, delay or defraud the plaintiffs in this action."

In an e-mailed statement, Lisa Cohen, a spokeswoman for Arnall, said he had "stepped down from the company's board almost two years ago far in advance of the meltdown of the non-prime industry and at a time when the company was profitable and financially stable."

She added that lawyers for the plaintiffs were "trying to generate interest in their case by tarnishing the ambassador."

A spokesman for Ameriquest declined to comment.

The motion to add Arnall as a defendant is to be heard June 26 by U.S. District Judge Marvin E. Aspen in Chicago.

The current defendants are Ameriquest, parent company ACC Capital Holdings Corp. and various subsidiaries, affiliates and agents.

Ameriquest's $325-million settlement with the states was the second-largest ever in a predatory lending case. The largest was by Household International, which settled for $484 million with 50 states in 2002.

But private attorneys say that many Ameriquest customers would recover more by declining to join in the settlement with the states and instead taking part in the private litigation.

In most cases, the settlement with the states would result in awards amounting to hundreds of dollars for each borrower, though their actual damages often ran into the tens of thousands of dollars each, said attorney Gary Klein of Boston, one of the lead lawyers in the private lawsuits.

Klein said the plaintiffs would seek billions of dollars in damages, including punitive damages and treble damages under many state laws for "bait and switch" tactics.

Ameriquest, which in its glory days sponsored Major League Baseball, the Super Bowl XXXIX halftime show and a Rolling Stones tour, was ranked the country's top sub-prime lender in 2004 and 2005. But the Ameriquest companies fell from the top 10 among sub-prime lenders in the third quarter last year, according to National Mortgage News.

Ameriquest Mortgage last year shut down 270 offices around the country and this March shuttered six operational offices, leaving only a small staff working at the headquarters in Orange.

Arnall remains the majority owner of Ameriquest and its affiliates. When he became ambassador, he was required to give up a role in running the company.

The plaintiffs' filing Monday cites allegations in an Orange County Superior Court lawsuit in which Wayne A. Lee, a longtime executive for Arnall, accuses the billionaire of thwarting Lee's efforts to reform the company's sales practices.

Lee's lawsuit names the company as a defendant but not Arnall. It claims that Ameriquest reneged on a deal to pay him $30 million after he left in frustration in 2005.

An attorney for the company has called Lee's suit "a ridiculous work of fiction" and has said Lee is "attempting to use baseless and inflammatory allegations to extract money to which he is not entitled."

One night after work, when we were leaving the office, Frank, myself, and 2 other AEs, Raul Gutierrez, and Eric Chan, and an ex AE Joe Diaz...we went out after work for drinks, which turned into a mess, with all of us doing coke with Frank, (who was my Area manager), and the other two were AEs in his Area too. From what I understand now, both of these other two AEs have been promoted as branch managers under Frank, both Eric Chan, and Raul Gutierrez.

I left the company after that, because Frank was always in our office, yelling at me, and often he was doing lines in the men's room with these two AEs in the middle of the work day!!

I did not want to work for a company who's upper management would participate in such behavior at all, but most disgusting to me was that he would involve his subordinates also. Frank was all about "making every loan work"....very shady, and he often gave me advice on what he would do on certain files to make them "work" Frank is an ass, he is very unstable I would guess his dramatic mood swings were from his drug abuse. I just knew for myself I had to get away from that guy. I asked for a transfer to another office, but Frank denied it, so I resigned.

Take it from someone who knows, Ameriquest is Shady! And so are most of their managers. I have been so much happier since I left that place.
