Ampco Parking Fraudulant Denver, Colorado

My husband and I parked in Denver at an Ampco lot on Friday, Aug. 26th at about 5:45pm.  We paid the rate that listed "all day" of $7.  When we returned to the car at 7:00, there was a ticket for $78 stating that we only paid $2.  In addition, the rate was not $7 but $10.  We looked at the sign and in small letters on the bottom reads (4pm to 10pm - $10).  I emailed through the appeals dept. that we in fact paid $7 (not $2) and that the sign was very unclear.  They immeadiately replied with "the sign is clear, ticket will be upheld".  I sent them photos of the sign and again they replied with the same answer.  So I asked for additional information (like a corporate phone number and address) and to that they do not reply. 

This is the second time that Ampco has done this to us.  The other time was in Maui.  We paid $10 for a 20 minutes only to return to a ticket stating that we did not pay at all.  I sent a letter to them and never heard back.  (We were in a rental car, so I am sure it was more difficult to track us down).  I assumed that it was a mistake or that they have an employee who is stealing from them, but nothing more.  However, now I believe that this is an intentional act on Ampco's part to defraud their customers.  Why else would they not go to the computerized ticket machines that all other lots are using, which issue receipts?

I will never park in one of their lots again, I will only be using lots with the computerized machines that only allow you to pay the correct rate and issue receipts.  I strongly encourage others to do the same.  DO NOT PARK WITH AMPCO PARKING!!
