That information is then circulated among all the members of Ancestry.com as the number one choice for information. I called Ancestry.com's help line to explain that this had happened but they said that members have freedom of speech and can put anything they want in their trees, even if it is false.
I know that people are putting false information into their trees because I am a member of the Wright Brother's family. My grandmother was Reuchlin Wright's daughter. Reuchlin was Orville and Wilbur Wright's brother. I grew up hearing the Wright brother's history.
The fact is that Orville and Wilbur never married. When I went to Ancestry.com's site and looked up Orville Wright, it said that he was married to Hattie McLaren. Those people changed history and Ancestry.com has backed up their right to do that.
