Complaint Review: Angie's List
Angie's ListInternet United States of America
Angie's List angieslist.com Merchants pay for positive reviews and negatives deleted , Internet
I filed a negative report about a local dentist on Angie's list complete with detailed information, dates, etc. My negative report was posted and about two weeks later I received an email saying that my report had been removed because the dentist did not recall having me as a patient.
When I looked at the Angie's site, I saw that two other negative reports had also been removed and three positive reports had been posted.
Angie's list has begun to accept advertising from merchants and the local dentist has videos, promos and ads posted on the Angie's review page.
This supposedly outstanding dentist has his license suspended by the TX state board of dental examiners for one year and license is now reinstated on a probationary basis. Yelp (my new free go-to for info) has this dentist rated at 2.5 stars but Angie's list gives him a 5.
Sadly, Angie's list has turned into just another advertising agency for merchants. It's crazy to pay a subscription fee for membership to this site which is slanted in favor of which ever merchant buys an ad.
