I have Acer computer so I went to Acer's website to contact their technical support. Acer's website is linked to AnswersBy, so I called them. I was advised by another company I called previously that my computer has been hacked. However, I thought since I have Acer maybe it's better to deal with them directly. Once I started talking to their technical support, I explained to them that my computer has been hacked and I don't have access to anything. They told me they can fix it for $99.99. I agreed. They also advised me that after they take my payment information, they will transfer me to their level 2 technician who will be able to work on my problem. I submitted payment.
After I was transferred, I again explained to the new technician I was hacked, at which time, he told me that they don't work on computers that have been hacked and that I need to contact the FBI. I was stunned. I asked them how come the first technician didn't tell me that and that if I would have known, I wouldn't pay for their service. He told me he doesn't know if that's what the technician said and that he would have to investigate. I asked for my money back. He refused. He kept challenging me and did not agree to refund me my money. He had an excuse for everything. Do NOT deal with them. They don't have a refund policy or money back guarantee. Actually, their refund policy is- NO REFUNDS, even if they don't do a darn thing for you! It's so easy to take someone's money then say, sorry I can't help you, but you won't get your money back because we don't do refunds!!!
I will never buy another Acer computer. I'm done with that company. Any reputable company would have a money back guarantee or at least try to make a customer happy and agree to refund the money, they don't.
I cannot express my frustrations dealing with the company. They are scammers at best. I will be disputing the charge and will also file a complaint with BBB.
